He's been the founder and leader of pop band Delfins, the best selling act in Portugal during the 90's, when he also was a host for live music TV shows.
After 25 years with Delfins and a farewell sold out tour in 2009, he started his solo career in 2012, releasing his album "Primeiro/First". He's also a writer (5 novels and his autobiography "Um Lugar ao Sol/A Place in the Sun" - 2010, Babel), a HND Coordinator and teacher in Creation and Production in Music course at the ETIC Institute, Lisbon, and the portuguese voice of Toy Story's Woody (amongst other Disney characters, like Pocahonta's John Smith or Hercules).
Miguel Angelo is best defined as a singer, songwriter and a performer, even though he has, over his career, reached into a wide diversity of areas such as literature, theatre, TV and the Universe of film soundtrack and animation. He was born in Cascais (03/04/1966) and still lives around.
With his band Delfins, and for 25 years, he became the top selling and touring Portuguese artist, and performed in Spain, France, Switzerland, Luxembourg, Germany, UK, South Africa, Cape-Vert, Mozambique, Brazil, Timor, Macau, US and Canada.
He also made history with Portuguese supergroup Resistência, a breakthrough success from 1991 to 1994.
From 1995 to 1998, he was in Brazil with Delfins performing live and recording "Saber a Mar" between São Paulo and Rio de Janeiro. This record had the participation of Roberto Fréjat (Barão Vermelho), Gabriel, O Pensador, Paulinho Moska and other musicians associated with artists like Djavan or A Cor do Som, and sold in Portugal about 300 thousand units, surpassing the sextuple platinum award.
He recorded in Spain, in 1998, with Alex de la Nuez, a Delfins record sung in Castelhano, named “Azul”, by request from BMG.
In 2011 he recorded a duet and a vídeo in Madrid with La Frontera, “Viento para Aterrissar”.
In France, with Cap Magellan’s production, he performed at Le Zénith and La Cigalle in the 90's. This Organization presented him in 2012 with the Prix D’Honneur at the Mairie de Paris, attended by the president Bertrand Delanoë.
A solo musical career: always the songs, now more acoustic - the organic energy of the rhythm of the stares and breathing - always the history of popular music, that fascinates him since a young age.
“Primeiro” was released in Portugal in late 2012, together with the digital EP “Ray’s Bar”. “Primeiro” travelled through the more intimate auditoriums and into the larger festivals and to crowds of up to 40.000 people.
In October 2013 Miguel released "O Teu Natal," an original Christmas song turned into a national radio hit.
On April 3rd 2014 Miguel released his Iphone app which went straight to #2 on the Top paid music apps in Portugal. On this same day his new single, "MUSA", which can be found exclusively on this app, started airing on all Portuguese Radio Stations.
