The name Not a Number (NaN) is taken from computer jargon where it stands for an undefined value. Another aspect of the name is that the artist behind it comes from a computer science background and wants to do other things too than just manipulating numbers.
The music ranges from simple synth pop, over techno to almost classcial music influenced by artists like Aphex Twin, Jean-Michel Jarre, Console and Philip Glass.
