Danelle Leverett and Susie Brown met while at a songwriters' concert in Nashville, Tennessee. After being introduced to each other by songwriter Kris Bergsnes, they began writing songs together and later decided to form a duo, also by suggestion of Bergsnes. According to the Wildflower Songfacts, they chose to name themselves The JaneDear Girls because it was "feminine and all-American."
The duo signed with Reprise Records Nashville division. John Rich (of Big & Rich) signed on as their record producer, and began mentoring them as well. In mid-2010, Reprise released the duo's debut single, "Wildflower." The song was a Top 15 hit on the Hot Country Songs charts. The album's second single, "Shotgun Girl," was released to country radio on March 21, 2011, and debuted on the Hot Country Songs chart at number 55 and re-entered as a single at 58.
In early 2011, the duo received their first nominations at Academy of Country Music Awards including Top Vocal Duo and Top New Vocal Duo or Group. The awards were later awarded to Sugarland and The Band Perry, respectively.

Every Day's A Holiday These days everybody's chasin' money But I say you got nothi…
Every Days A Holiday These days everybody's chasin' money But I say you got noth…
Free Ride Just because I don't have a diamond ring Doesn't mean I'm…
Lucky You She don't like ridin' on the back of your motor…
Merry Go Round Y'all ready for this? I don't think so Make your merry go…
Never Gonna Let You Go You say my name like a secret no one knows How…
Pretender Third of September, gonna be late Beat up Camaro, that smile…
Saturdays In September Long summer days tucked in a box Smell of rain on…
Shotgun Girl Yeah, yeah I like to hold your hand up high on…
Sing Along Boy you thought I had it really bad for you Thought…
Sugar I'm like a kid at the candy shop I see what…
Wild Flower Mm, yeah Yeah, yeah I was born off an old dirt road…
Wildflower Mm, yeah Yeah, yeah I was born off an old dirt road…
