Deglazing the sweeter, melodic elements of previous outings, he's coined the term "jacknoise" to describe his current aesthetic of dry, echoic drum machines, sluggish monotones and grey distortion. Tracks scout a desolate, burned-out soundscape formed from awkwardly tessellating rhythms and somnolent motifs that dissolve and resolve at will; track structures aren't beholden to dancefloor needs, are allowed to fold inwards and flop or repeat with keen intuition. The cassette format feels a perfect medium to articulate this sound, offering the constant stability of murk ferric distortion to envelope his haphazardly collapsing dimensions.
