Silence Is Golden
The Tremeloes Lyrics

Oh don't it hurt deep inside
To see someone do something to her
Oh don't it pain to see someone cry
How especially if that someone is her

Silence is golden
But my eyes still see
Silence is golden, golden
But my eyes still see

Talking is cheap people follow like sheep
Even though there is no where to go
How could she tell he deceived her so well
Pity she'll be the last one to know

Silence is golden
But my eyes still see
Silence is golden, golden
But my eyes still see

How many times will she fall for his lines
Should I tell her or should I be cool
And if I tried I know she'd say I lied
Mind your business don't hurt her you fool

Silence is golden
But my eyes still see
Silence is golden, golden
But my eyes still see
But my eyes still see
But my eyes still see

Some ideas are ageless. Songs of your mom’s era (and mine) talk about love and fun. Not so much these days.

Decca signed these guys after turning down the Beatles.

Man, no band today can hold a candle to these classic bands!!!!!!!!!!!!!

@Red Phoenix That's not true. They just had different technological enhancements. You will never experience a stereo mastering in real life. The fact that it was recorded on tape originally means they get to do it over and over and over until it is exactly as they like. Not to mention all the mixing that goes on after the recordings. In most cases, the band is not in a room performing as a band. Each instrument is recorded on a separate track which may be recorded on separate days.
There has always been technological enhancements.

How about no? There enough bands that can hold even two candles but none of them are mainstream. The Tremeloes did not invent singing and did not invent harmonies. They simply lived in a time with no autotune and no technological enhancements.

This song has to be one of the best vocal harmony recordings ever. It has been one of my favourite songs since I first heard it back in the 60s
