She is in high demand for the trouser roles such as 'Sesto' (Mozart's 'La clemenza di Tito), 'Orphee' (Gluck's 'Orphee et Eurydice'), 'Ruggiero' (Haendel's 'Alcina'), 'Romeo' (Bellini's 'I Capuleti e i Montecchi'), and 'Tancredi' (Rossini's 'Tancredi'). But has also been making splashes as 'Charlotte' (Massenet's 'Werther') and 'Zayda' (Donizetti's 'Dom Sebastien) as well.
She is known for her dramatic commitment in each role she sings both vocally and theatrically, and for her vocal agility in bel canto virtuoso pieces. Great singing technique gives her wonderful control of the exotic dark mezzo soprano voice. Wonderful breath-support (can sing long phrases without running out of air). As she was trained as a concert pianist before switching to singing, she is very musical and can improvise in convincing manner. Will occasionally display register breaks, but both the high and low notes are convincing (range of close to 3 octaves... have sung soprano high D on record) and the middle is very rich and smoky burgandy color (primarily... she has many colors in her voice and really exploits them to paint her singing).
Kasarova resides near Zurich, Switzerland and primarily sings at prominent European opera houses and concert halls. She is a regular guest at Salzburg Summer Festival, Munich Summer Festival, Snow and Ice Festival in St Moritz, Schwetzingen Festival in Stuttgart, and Pesaro Rossini Festival in Italy.
