Rocket Man
My Morning Jacket Lyrics

She packed my bags last night pre-flight
Zero hour nine a.m.
And I'm gonna be high as a kite by then
I miss the earth so much I miss my wife
It's lonely out in space
On such a timeless flight

And I think it's gonna be a long long time
'Til touch down brings me round again to find
I'm not the man they think I am at home
Oh no no no I'm a rocket man
Rocket man burning out his fuse up here alone

Mars ain't the kind of place to raise your kids
In fact it's cold as hell
And there's no one there to raise them if you did
And all this science I don't understand
It's just my job five days a week
A rocket man, a rocket man

And I think it's gonna be a long long time

Suraj's opinion is better

@Martin Coronel Thanks for that. I only ever heard Wheels of steel and it's a great song.

If you know any other good metal songs that are more Rock n Roll than Death Metal type tunes please let me know.....

I like Rolling Stones
Motorhead
Saxon
AcDC

But nothing like Korn or Slipknot etc (no offense to fans of them)
Any bands similar to them would be appreciated

I like this more than Elton John's version.
Mainly because this cover is haunting as shit.

Ye, getting some radiohead vibes from this.

Evokes more emotion than Elton John's version, for sure. Love this!

This guy's tone sets this cover apart from the original. The original song is an amaze on its own. But this cover here takes you down an alley, and down into a secret sea of its own.

My ex used to rock my grandson to this song or it would be their morning coffee song:) It was the sweetest thing. He hasn't heard it for over a year and I played it for him today, he's now 3, and he got the funniest look on his face of recollection but then said he didnt remember it. Subconsciously though, I think he did😉 Excellent version and amazing voice♡

The backing vocals going "ahhhhhhhhh" are right on point.

hard to put a finger on, but I think the mood here is so very 21st century - uncertain, emotional but poised on the edge of fear and sadness, not at all the 70s mood in Elton John's original, which was much more optimistic, like the times themselves. Love both.

Fits with our situation now
