Molten Light
Chad VanGaalen Lyrics

Floated to the surface and it did not ignite
She rose up slowly and walked to the shore
She stood up on the bank and whispered
I'll find you and I'll kill you
I'll find you and I'll kill you
I'll find you and I'll kill you
They ran back into town and hid in the church
They explained their situation and they feared for the worst
The priest told the brothers that she could not be killed
She flew out of the stone cold ground and
She'll find you and she'll kill you
She'll find you and she'll kill you
She'll find you and she'll kill you
There was a knock at that door that shook through their hearts
She blew it right open and put it apart
She shot a string of flame from the center of her chest
As she watched their bodies burn she whispered
I found you and I killed you
I found you and I killed you
I found you and I killed you
The lyrics to Chad VanGaalen's song Molten Light tell the story of a woman's revenge after she has been murdered and thrown into a volcano. The lines "They dumped her body into the molten light / Floated to the surface and it did not ignite" create a sense of tension and unease as the listener imagines the woman's body being slowly engulfed by the molten lava. However, the woman rises from the lava unscathed and vows to find and kill those who murdered her.
As the song progresses, the woman's revenge takes on a supernatural quality as she is described as being able to fly and shoot flames from her chest. The lines "She flew out of the stone cold ground and / She'll find you and she'll kill you" add a sense of fear and peril as the singer realizes that they are in grave danger. The ultimate threat of "I found you and I killed you" serves as a chilling reminder that actions have consequences, and revenge can come in unexpected ways.
Overall, the lyrics to Molten Light are a haunting and evocative tale of revenge and the consequences that come with it. The story is told with vivid language and imagery, creating a vivid and unsettling atmosphere that sticks with the listener long after the song has ended.

Watched this alot as a kid. I was very isolated and traumatized at a young age, struggling with mental illness. This song resonated with me. Cant quite put my finger on why to this day. Such a unique song. Love it.

I’m 22 now 4 years sober. I listened to this whilst being heavily mentally ill, addicted to heroin and 2 months away from living on the streets (which inevitably happened). But I remember playing this song on repeat for hours, just absolutely crying balling my eyes out over the issues that then seemed existential to me but I now see as completely manageable. I’d like to think this song helped me in a way, to let some of that emotion out when I had no one to turn to.

Same thing for me, I heard it in 2017 at the height of my depression and it seems crazy to think I'm still alive and still listening to the same song, it just sounds different
