I saw them in concert back in the very early ‘80s. They opened for Patti LaBelle. They were fire. One of the band members started feeling the music and he broke out and jam his azz off on stage while the rest of the band kept playing. My man was in the zone and when I say jammed, he danced for a long time. One of the best concerts ever!
Roselaine Ribeiro
O arranjo instrumental, realmente é maravilhoso. ☺

Cheyney state university, just south of Philly.....saw POD live doing this jam.....they rocked it!!!! almost thirty years later, it STILL kicks.....kids take note, this was a live BAND with real MUSICIANS, not some autotuned, computer generated, pre-sampled, DAT file driven "Artists". Dude I heard this song one time and only one time in 1982, by accident no less & never heard it again. The funny thing is I remembered every note, but didn't know who did the song. Fast forward 31 years to 10.29.2013, I clicked on this "by accident" and imagine my sa'prize when I heard this after 31 years. My friends were buggin' they could not believe I knew that song note for note and only heard it one time after 30 plus years. Kool post, Thanx.
iames turner
Same here bruh. I always remembered the beat but never knew who made it.
Robert Houston
Is'nt that Something 😂👏
MisterNell65
They played it a lot on the local R&B station where I grew up in North Carolina. So I learned about them for sure. Had the pleasure of seeing them perform live at a free city music/cultural festival back when this song first came out. Was a fan from that point on. I still try to go to their concerts whenever possible some 30 plus years later. 😃
Kirk Bigg Hands
Wouldja believe the EXACT SAME THING is happening to me on Dec 19, 2020?!?

I remember having this on maxi single. I made a mix with this song and George Carlin's "7 Words You Can Say on Television" a long time ago. I used to go out walking or running with my cassette Walkman with this mix playing. I used to get some stares as I was laughing while listening to this mix. I should make that mix again someday. Those 7 words curved your spine and kept the country from winning the war. LOL.

Timeless !!!!
Genae Young
So many Philly people connected to this song, Mt. Airy stand up, it's where I'm from. I vividly remember being in Germantown walking with my mom in the 80's to Acme Market and passing a playground where guys were playing basketball with a radio blasting this song, and on the way back from the store, Let;s Hear it for the Boys by Denise Williams was playing. Good times and good memories. Boys in the yard would break dance on cardboard in the streets, times were fun and light hearted. Good days of the past growing up in Philly,

I love that these BROTHERS playing this song were clean cut and professionally skilled on their instruments. Puts to rest how we're always being portrayed as inferior. The ones putting that negative narrative out there are what we used to call noncompusmentis idiotic idiots and all those who think and believe as the naysayers do.
southjerseysfinest

Question: after hearing this jam for the first time in '82, did you become incarcerated right afterwards? Just asking because this tune was too big of a hit & heard almost everywhere you went. Even Grandmaster Flash couldn't resist passing it up.
