Originally calling themselves the A Cappella Circle when they were at the University of Waseda, they changed their name to the Gospellers in 1991 after graduating. They spent the next ten years working towards national recognition, releasing 24 singles and 9 albums during that time. They became the first complete a cappella group to be in the top 3 of the Oricon chart ranking in Japan with their song, "HITORI".
In early 2006, the group made a side-project release, Gosperats, featuring the members in blackface and singing with a jazzier accompaniment Rats & Star's member Masayuki Suzuki, Nobuyoshi Kuwano and Yoshio Sato. Many of the western Gospeller fans were upset about the outrage it caused on some discussion forums, many non-fans felt offended by the blackface the group members had chosen to take on. Fortunately, this project was announced as a side-project and released only one album under its name.
The members of Gospellers are now producers for several Japanese artists, including Tatsuya Ishii and Masayuki Suzuki. (This text has been cited from Wikipedia)

いつか来た夜のように
遠くへ 遠くへ
静かな言葉を投げて
静かな答えを投げて
遠くへ 遠くへ
君と二人で
君と二人で
いつか見た夢のように
いつか来た夜のように
The lyrics to シエスタ (Siesta) by ゴスペラーズ (The Gospellers) describe a dreamlike and nostalgic atmosphere. It talks about a dream that was once seen, and a night that has passed, both of which feel distant and far away. The lyrics convey a sense of longing and a desire to go far away, as if escaping from reality.
The song uses the motif of quietly throwing words and answers into the distance. This could symbolize a desire for connection and understanding with someone. It emphasizes the idea of being together with someone, holding hands and waking up together. The lyrics suggest that being with this person feels like being in a dream or a beautiful night, as if everything is perfect and full of magic.
Overall, シエスタ captures the wistful and hopeful emotions of wanting to escape and find solace in a dreamlike world with someone special. It paints a picture of a quiet and intimate moment shared between two people, where time feels suspended and the world around them fades away.
