The lyrics in Koda Kumi's song "W Face" are a celebration of empowerment, self-confidence, and duality. The repeated phrase "Yass bitch, yass bitch, yass bitch" serves as a rallying cry for self-assurance and assertion. It conveys a sense of pride and boldness, encouraging the listener to embrace their strength and individuality. The term "W face" likely refers to the idea of having two distinct sides or personas, representing the contrast between the public image and the private self.
The lines "Lips lined, beautiful, She's fine" suggest a focus on outer beauty and appearance, but the following lyrics delve deeper into the complexity of identity. The song explores the idea of wearing a veil that hides one's true self, a facade that is shown to the world but may not reflect one's inner thoughts and feelings. The lyrics invite reflection on the contrast between the public persona ("which do you like?") and the private, unseen self.
The chorus emphasizes the message of self-empowerment and confidence, with the repetition of "Yass bitch" and "Slay" reinforcing the idea of conquering obstacles and shining brightly. The lyrics also touch on themes of competition and success, with references to being the best, having swagger, and outshining others. The use of strong language like "I'm bad, The baddest" and "I have it" further reinforces the theme of strength and self-assuredness.
The final verses bring together different aspects of the singer's persona - singing, dancing, crying, and speaking - as sources of charisma and allure. The lyrics convey a sense of being in control and excelling in every aspect of one's being. The closing lines "The way I sing, The way I dance, The way I cry" suggest a journey towards self-acceptance and growth, ultimately leading to a place of personal fulfillment and authenticity. Overall, the song "W Face" by Koda Kumi is a bold declaration of self-confidence, inner strength, and the power of embracing one's true self.
