Anata no kokoro no oku nemuru nemuru musuu no kioku
Saa ima kono shunkan ni tobira ga hiraku
Hatto mabuta mihiraite ikutsumo TONNERU wo kugutteku yo
Arawareru sono IMEEJI anata no iki ga hazundeiku
Amai amai yume no mukougawa agaru agaru omoi ni kokoro wa
The lyrics of 小島麻由美's song Poltergeist speak about the deep memories that are sleeping inside the heart of the person that the singer is addressing. The memory is so vast and infinite that it is compared to an endless number of trees that are sleeping in the depths of the heart. The singer challenges the person to open the door of their heart in this very moment, as the time is now.
Furthermore, the lyrics also speak about the sudden emergence of vivid images that occur when someone shuts their eyes. These images are so intense that they shake and sway along with the person's breath. The chorus of the song evokes emotions that cannot be controlled, and speaks about how the heart cannot resist the feelings that arise, in particular, the overwhelming desire that surges up inside, making the person's love infallible.
Overall, the song "Poltergeist" is a deep and introspective melody that speaks to people who have incredible amounts of memories stored inside them. It is a testament to the fact that memories shape who we are as human beings, and they hold immense power over us.

"How many drummer do you need?"
The band: Yes
It has been 12 years after I first listened this music from Ghost Hound. They're still awesome, both the anime and this Poltergeist.
Enyo
Agreed. I’m surprised Ghost Hound isn’t better known. It was really good.

This song lured me into a discography of the most captivating japanese artist to me. I found this song from the Ghost Hound opening because I found a lot of anime I liked purely based on the opening theme in middle school, but I ended up not liking Ghost Hound anyway :(. Afterwards I got as many songs as I could of Kojima, and I was turned away by most of the songs because they were so quirky and strange. Some of her songs were jazzy and poppy though, and they showed off her voice in a way that I believe is the best singing voice for me personally. I dont know what's so likeable about jazz and the style of her music, and I believe her music is a gateway drug to jazz. Moreover, it made me search for music that made me feel amazing more than ever. I quickly warmed up to her quirky songs, and now I cherish them more. So if you are coming here because this song is awesome, that's because an awesome singer with an awesome band is making the music. Please check out her other songs!

I agree with you. Her discography is brilliant, and it gave me a huge appreciation for swing/blues jazz

@splash Listen to Shikisai No Blues by EGO-WRAPPIN' if you don't already know this band :)

@Burgsly Wow I do actually know ego-wrappin, but hadn't heard that release. It's fantastic, thanks for the rec. And to return a Japanese jazz pop rec back to you, you should check out Original Love if you haven't. Fantastically talented guy from Pizzicato 5 with a wonderful discography. Especially check out Lovelove&love. <3

All those cyrillic Я, Ц, Ч, Л were so confusing! Russian is my first language, and I was reading Я, Ц, Ч, Л as "YA", "TS", "CH" and "L" automatically at first : )
