Sakuraba is regularly contracted for composing work through his own TEAM Entertainment, a company founded in 1999 to promote and license the work of artists.
With respects to his musical style, Sakuraba takes the baroque and melodic Japanese progressive rock of the 1980s and expands it with his own trademark complex rhythms, emotional flutes, use of male choir and heavy reverb. The lighter side of his style is a crossover between symphonic progressive rock, cinematic orchestra and new age. Sakuraba is also known for introducing many jazz-like improvisations to his music style. In recent years he has made a serious effort toward expanding his style even further.

I'm a trained organist and accompanist and I regularly listen to the Dark Souls Trilogy soundtracks, in fact I have all 3 on my phone. They perfectly reflect the nature of the boss fight. Quelaag's fight the composer uses varied string techniques to represent her monstrous form. Great Grey Wolf Sif is majestic and honourable. Gwyn's theme uses only the white notes on the keyboard and it's in the natural minor (A minor). This track "A Moment's Peace" is repetitive yet peaceful. It's gently telling you that you wil be repeating yourself over and over again. These soundtracks are worth listening to on their own because they're also masterpieces

A moments peace is my favorite track, to me it defines dark souls 1, As crazy, hectic, and somber as the game can get I feel this truly reflects resting at the bonfire or a safe spot where you can let your guard down. The Bell tolls and the violin remind your of the tension, and the chorus and acoustic guitar and chimes settle you down again. To me nothing will top distract from any dark souls game

Fell for this theme right away. To me, it captures perfectly an atmosphere of calmness, solitude, expectation...in the face of great odds. A true moment's peace before the storm.
