The group released a repackaged mini album Painkiller on March 29, 2012, promoting the title track "Painkiller".
They went on to release a total of three mini albums (including the repackage), six digital singles and three promotional singles, as well as a single by the sub-unit SPICA.S (스피카.S), which included Sihyun, Narae, Jiwon and Bohyung.

I still don't understand how a song like "Painkiller" didn't get SPICA major attention as rookies in 2012. It was a such memorable release imo, strong, moody beat, excellent vocals; I still get "pain killa killa killa" stuck in my head to this day.

actually it did. Russian roulette and painkiller actually did get the recognition "at the time". Some critics did acknowledge the song for being nicely done. But not for a decent extend of time, since the boy group scene in 2012 were more major and hectic, it overshadowed this song and this group, imho. and it sad :(

well, if you don't have super stand out visual/other incident (positive/negative) happen, they won't get anywhere.... Sad truth, but that's kpop.... moreover they're not from big agency. It's a lie if ppl said they like a group just based on songs :( I really hope SPICA get more attention, they truly deserved it.

I agree as I found them back in 2014 and they just dropped my jaw to the floor. I got started in KPOP just after their debut so I didn't discover them right away. When they get a good song it isn't just good, but great. There are a lot of really good groups that don't get the attention that they should and sometimes I wonder if for SPICA is that they are too old to get big. Is it still about the young artists in Korea and once you are over 25 it is, "see ya".

i think omonski was right 2012 was all about boy groups. I came back here bc of comparisons between spica and mamamoo as vocal groups. Mamamoo on the other hand rose to fame on the right timing, when all the attention was on rookie girl groups

Woojong I am a huge Crayon Pop fan, but my god these are the most under-rated ladies in KPOP...Spica is simply amazing...why do friggin KPOP fans in Korea worry more about the company they come from then the actual talent level....
