Formed in 1994, the band performs a style of music which it refers to as "G-punk", a fusion of punk rock and hip hop. After releasing three albums on Jive, Hed PE left the label to record independently, eventually signing with Suburban Noize in 2006.

The band was formed by rapper Jared Gomes, also known as "M.C.U.D." (MC Underdog), and guitarist Wes Geer, who became friends amidst the Orange County hardcore punk scene. Gomes and Geer recruited guitarist Chizad, bassist Mawk, drummer B.C. Vaught and DJ Product © 1969. They named the group "Hed", which stands for "higher education". The band built a following with their energetic performances at local venues, and released the self-financed extended play, Church of Realities. Legal issues forced Hed to change their name, adding PE, which stood for Planet Earth.

jimbo jones Here are the outcomes in my opinion (Source:my logic)

1) Intelligent life and "not-so" intelligent life: Most likely the two planets / planet and moon, will have very different life on them. One of them will reach intelligent life forms first, and that life form will discover the other place and occupy it. By the time intelligent life forms on the other "earth" evolve, it will be nothing unexpected, as it is a long and gradual process (we can experience the same, if we allow another species to become intelligent like us right here on our Earth - I don't see this to be a fairytail - but it needs a lot of time).

2) Both planets have intelligent life and one discovers the other. WAR - the more technologically (or something else?) advanced species will win the battle and get the resources and space of the other planet for themselves.

3) Both have intelligent life and don't want to fight, but are excited and decide to live together. Will be exciting for one or two, maybe three generations, then the kids will be born in such a world and it will become just as normal as a single planet. The history books will be fun, though! =D

My favorite sci-fi version of this was Lexx season 3 and 4, with the planets Fire and Water orbiting each other at Earth's L3. They were the physical manifestation of Heaven and Hell for the Earth, to which they were supernaturally connected. It was a very weird sci-fi show.

Mr. Cain, I thoroughly enjoyed your video. It reminds me of a movie I adored many years ago, with the mysterious and fabulous story of a doppelgänger planet on the opposite side of the planet from earth. The movie is "Journey to the Far Side of the Sun", a 1969 Universal Studio production. Have you seen this movie? What if there are other solar systems in the same space but on different wavelengths around the Sun?
Like radio stations that can be seen when the sun's is light refracted in camera lens or visor. It tunes into that wavelength enough so you could see it but appear as as an illusion of a string of planets resembling our system.

If they were far enough from any other worlds, sure, you could get a binary planet. In fact, some consider Pluto/Charon to be a binary dwarf planet.

But what if the "little differences" are canceled out by each other? Example: Jupiter slows down the mystery planet 10 feet as it passes by, but then as Earth passes by Jupiter is slows down by 10 feet as well... And so on, so the net result is that we still never see the planet? And also since the super small effect it was having on the other planets was happening on the other side of sun- we still wouldn't see it

We would be able to see the hypothetical counter-earth behind the sun, even without tugs from the other planets. This is because the earth's orbit is not a perfect circle but a slight ellipse. As a result, we travel a bit faster at perihelion than at aphelion, which would cause the relative positions of the earth and counter-earth to vary. In other words, even without Jupiter, etc. pulling on us, the answer would still be "no".

There is a theory (don't remember names) that in the very early solar system, Theia (the supposed planet that hit earth to create the moon) formed in Earths L4 or L5 points. Also, the Stereo observatories were to photograph these points in great detail to look for astroids. Belbruno and Gott came up with the theory.

You could get something forming in the L4/L5 but once it got too big, it would drift out. I think the ratio is 25/1 for Earth/Theia mass.

Well, my point is that is that L4/L5 are only stable when the mass of the object you put there is insignificant compared to the mass of the Sun and the Earth. Tiny asteroids and space colonies can go there, but not planetoids. Once anything in the L4/L5 point gets too large it'll drift out and crash into Earth.

Theia was thought to be the mass of Mars.

***** If it was an object as massive as a planet we would know about it because it would interfere with the orbital times of other planets. That's how Neptune was discovered in 1846 & Pluto in 1930 - their positions were predicted before they were discovered because of their effect on the other known planets in our solar system. If there was something like a rock that stayed out of sight behind the Sun from Earth it would have to be following Exactly in the track of the Earth's orbit. A rock couldn't stay in such an orbit for long because its small mass would change its orbit from the pressure of the solar 'wind' of particles from the Sun & also solar photon pressure.

Fun vid. Makes me wonder though if it's possible for the Moon and Earth as the coalesced in a similar orbit billions of years ago collided, the Moon bounced off then was captured by Earth's gravity. I think the current theory is an Earth-sized object bounced off Earth, ripping out a chunk that became the Moon. Not sure what evidence of that theory exists.

Little known fact - in Action Comics #1, Superman's home planet was in Earth's solar orbit on the opposite side of the sun, if you read between the lines. That's the reason Siegel and Shuster called it Krypton, from Ancient Greek: κρυπτός (transliterated as kryptos meaning "the hidden one").

It's not just that Jupiter would perturb the orbits of one of the two Earths causing one to eventually catch the other.
But a second Earth also would cause measurable disturbances in the orbits of Mars ,Venus, and Mercury.
In fact even something as small as Earths moon could have been detected this way even back in the 19th century.

I wonder if this counts as a "favorite story." The original story for "Dr. Who's" Cybermen (broadcast in the 1960's) were that the came from the "counter Earth." When the BBC had a fire in their vault, this was one of the stories lost.

I have never seen the episode, however, that is the explanation given in all of the official literature for the original run of the show. The Cybermen went on to be one of the iconic "villains" of the show.

Come on Fraser. I have no room in my dictionary of cosmology for the words "no" or "impossible" Maybe its a planet we can't see. Maybe its a planet that our telescopes can't see. Maybe it is an invisible planet for all we know. With invisible people on it. Maybe it is a planet forever hidden away from cosmological view. But we may never have any idea at all for sure if the answer is truly "No''. But as I said I have no room in my dictionary for the word "no". Unlikely things have happened before Fraser. The universe is a huge place of wonder and imagination. Who knows what secrets lie in the universe. We may never know, which makes it impossible to rule out this possibility.

Can there be a "chain" of L4 and L5 points?
Like this: Planet a is at 0 degrees, Planet B is at Planet A's L4 point, Planet C is at Planet B's L4 point, Planet D is at planet C's L4 point, etc. etc.

Or a full chain with 6 of these, each at a divisor mark of 360 degrees, And if so, if this formed, how stable would it be?

The problem is that a L4/L5 point only works with an object of negligible mass. So, a tiny asteroid or spacecraft is stable, not an equal-sized planet.

I don't for a second believe that there is a planet hiding from us beyond the sun. But... After saying that it would not be possible due to gravity problems with the other planets, you show a chart of the Lagrange points, and there is a big fat L3 right across behind the sun in the same orbit as Earth... So, how is L3 stable, if the other planets would disrupt the orbit?

L3 isn't a stable Lagrange point. You need to be providing constant thrust to remain in that position. It's like being at the top of a steep mountain. The L4 and L5 points are stable, so you can roll down into them. That said, for something to be in a Lagrange point, it needs to have essentially zero mass compared to the Sun and Earth. And another Earth doesn't work for that.

Superman, 1940 version, Krypton was a counter Earth. Second, Sports Billy, the eponymous hero was also from a counter-Earth of supermen.

If a planet existed in Jupiter's 60 degree Lagrange point, at what date would it realistically have been discovered? Would it have been discovered before or after Ceres? How hard to see would it be compared to Ceres if it was the size of Earth or the size of Mars, but that much further away?

Ironically in the news today there is talk of another planet (planet X or 9) similar in size to neptune. It's estimated orbit around the sun is 10,000 - 20,000 years long and it's extremely wide elliptical orbit is mostly on one side of the sun which is why we haven't detected it. This explains all our planets' gravity behaviour and seems to have been 'confirmed' despite the fact it's not been visibly detected yet.

+Fraser Cain From Keppler, surely only 2 planets AND a perfectly circular orbit? If the orbit was elliptical, one planet would be just past apogee, going rally fast, and the other would be just past perigee, going much slower, and so the sun would not necessarily block them from each other's view?

The collision that you describe could have already happened. I mean, how did the moon form? Another planet, a little smaller than Earth collided with the early proto-Earth. The two masses reformed, over millions of years, to become the Earth and the Moon.

But... Yes is the real answer! There are at least 7 other planets in stable orbits that are sometimes on the other side of the sun. We even have names for them... Mercury, Venus, Mars, Jupiter, Saturn, Neptune, Uranus. The real question should be: since Pluto was mistakenly called a planet for so many years, can we please rename it Goofy?

All of these men were scientists and astronomers, well documented , highly educated and not YouTubers.

Just saying "No" is stupid, it doesn't prove anything. As for your statement that Earth's orbit speed is increased by Jupiter -- and a Net effect you say, because you say that Earth would 'catch up' to any planet in the same orbit as us (only directly opposite behind the Sun), but I have never heard of the fact that our year (which is the time taken for one Earth orbit) is increasing over time. In the beginning you say that our orbital speed is sometimes sped up and sometimes slowed down, so that would mean we would NOT 'catch up' to any such opposite-Earth (should one exist). And, just how much is this speeding up (as you 'sleight-of-hand' turn "speeding up and slowing down into only "speeding up")? How many hundreds, or thousands, or millions, or billions of years would be needed to see any significant change?

I said no, and then I went into more details. The Earth follows an elliptical orbit around the Sun, look at any orbit, especially highly elliptical ones like comets and you'll see how they speed up when they get to perihelion at the closest point. Same thing is happening with the Earth. It's believed the Moon formed long ago because we did have a Mars-sized object roughly in the same orbit and they eventually crashed.

The Earth's eccentricity is very slight, so that it is close to a circular orbit. I don't know why you digressed to a THEORY about the Moon's origin. I just don't think you have refuted the possibility that there could be a similar sized planet to Earth on the other side of the Sun. (And no, I'm not a Nibiru Believer, I just like to keep an open mind if there is no conclusive argument against something. Besides, I think the Nibiru hypothesis states a very large planet [sometimes a brown dwarf with its own satellites] on a highly elliptical orbit. Too many lens flares declared as "proof", and no sign of the predicted cataclysms for the last 10 years, for me to join the Nibiru club.)
