The members are rooted in Bilad Al-Sham, spanning the divides from Amman to the Galilee, the Golan Heights to Ramallah (Palestin). This new sound of 47SOUL has rapidly amassed fans in the Middle East and Europe by blasting the electric Arabic debka sound through underground music scenes.
On top of the beats that have been bumping in the Middle East for centuries, 47SOUL hypes it up with analog synthesizers, hypnotic guitar lines, and shattering verses from the four singers. Every show ends in relentless dance and trance from all parties involved.
Their lyrics, mixing Arabic and English, call for celebration and freedom in the struggle for equality, inside Bilad Al Sham and throughout the world.

The song "Intro to Shamstep" by 47soul is a tribute to the soul of their homeland, Sham, which is another name for Syria, Palestine, Lebanon, and Jordan. The repeated question "what's the soul of the 47?" emphasizes the band's connection to this region, and the importance of acknowledging and preserving the traditions and culture that have been passed down to them. The lyrics also touch upon the struggles of living in a region rife with political and economic instability, with lines such as "no agent no guarantee, no landlord on your back, no country no form."
The chorus, "ebn el3en, ebn elnahr, ebn elnab3 w ebn elba7r," which translates to "son of the eye, son of the river, son of the clouds and son of the sea," showcases the band's pride in their heritage and the diverse influences that have shaped their music. The lyrics also express a sense of community and solidarity, with lines like "hay elzaqa w hay e7na" which translates to "this neighborhood and us."
Overall, the song celebrates the spirit of resilience and perseverance that is necessary to survive and thrive in the tumultuous landscape of the Middle East.

If I am right in thinking these are rerecorded/remixed versions, they sound great. Dynamic, they do the songs justice. If I am wrong, coming back to these after 5 years or so- they've held up beautifully ...
