The Current Los Kumbia Kings roster includes former "Menudo" member Abel Talamantez, as well as a 14 year old Irvin "Pee-Wee" Gonzalez. Gonzalez was born in Washington state, but moved to Texas at an early age. He was plucked from a talent search to head Los Kumbia Kings into the next generation.
In early 2006, Los Kumbia Kings will return to the studio to begin work on their next album, and the final one as members for A.B. Quintanilla and Cruz Martinez. The group's original members will no longer record and tour with musical sensation they built following this year.Quintanilla has stated his desire to expand the musical empire he has created. His "King Of Bling" production company recently signed a multi-million deal with EMI Latin. He also plans on taking "Los Kumbia Kings" to the American pop-markets.A move he had been reluctant to do until the recent success of "Reggaeton" in the international music market.

There has also been varied speculation of a possible "Los Kumbia Kings" reunion in recent months.Recent media reports have Quintanilla reuniting many former Kumbia King members, including Frankie "J" Baustista, Jason "DJ-Kane" Cano, Alex and Roy Ramirez,in the studio as a farewell tribute to their fans.
Although, this group has gained much success since its founding co-founder A.B. Quintanilla III took off from the group. On August 03, 2006 Pee Wee has come out saying he will not be coming back to Los Kumbia Kings due to a conflict. Pee Wee was sick for a performance and was replaced, Pee Wee seeing this as an insult decided to leave the group for good joining up with former co-founder A.B. Y atreves a pedir
Y has vivido atormentada
Por no estar junto a mí
Porque me quieres
¿Pues qué me crees?
Que yo borre el pasado
Y que te libre de tus penas
Que te dé mi perdón
Porque te quiero
Lo siento pero estás en un error
Es que fuiste mala con mi corazón
Y ahora vienes a buscarme, a amarme
Un día fuiste todo para mí
Y ahora no puedo ni verte, vete
Me dicen que ya tus labios
Que han besado mucho más
Y que me entregue a tus brazos
Que todo vuelva a ser igual
Porque me amas
Escúchame que nunca jamás
Es que fuiste mala con mi corazón
Y ahora vienes a buscarme, a amarme
Un día fuiste todo para mí
Y ahora no puedo ni verte, vete
Es que fuiste mala con mi corazón
Y ahora vienes a buscarme, a amarme
Un día fuiste todo para mí
Y ahora no puedo ni verte, vete
Es que fuiste mala con mi corazón
Y ahora vienes a buscarme, a amarme
Un día fuiste todo para mí
Y ahora no puedo ni verte, vete
The lyrics of A.B. Quintanilla III & Kumbia Kings's song Fuiste Mala (You Were Bad) tell the story of a person who has caused their former partner pain and heartbreak. The song's verses are directed at this former partner who is now attempting to come back into the singer's life. They ask the former partner to understand the gravity of their previous actions and the impact they have had on their heart. The singer is hesitant to forgive and forget the past, believing that the former partner has not undergone any real change.
The chorus of the song repeats the phrase "Es que fuiste mala con mi corazón" (you were bad to my heart), emphasizing the pain and suffering caused by the former partner's actions. The singer declares that they cannot allow themselves to be hurt again by this person, even though they once meant everything to them. Ultimately, the singer urges the former partner to "vete" (leave), ending any potential reconciliation.
Overall, Fuiste Mala is a song about heartbreak and the difficulties of forgiving someone who has caused pain in a relationship. The lyrics are straightforward in their message, and the emotion in the singer's voice is palpable as they express their feelings of hurt and betrayal.

Que yo vuelva a recibirte
You think that I'll welcome you back with open arms
Y atreves a pedir
And you have the nerve to ask
Y has vivido atormentada
You've been tormented
Por no estar junto a mí
Because you weren't with me
Porque me quieres
You claim you love me
¿Pues qué me crees?
But what do you expect me to believe?
Que yo borre el pasado
You want me to erase the past
Como si nunca pasó
As if it never happened
Y que te libre de tus penas
And that I free you from your troubles
Que te dé mi perdón
That I forgive you
Porque te quiero
Because I love you
Lo siento pero estás en un error
I'm sorry but you're wrong
Es que fuiste mala con mi corazón
The truth is, you were bad for my heart
Y ahora vienes a buscarme, a amarme
And now you come back to find me, to love me
Un día fuiste todo para mí
You were everything to me at one time
Y ahora no puedo ni verte, vete
But now I can't stand to even see you, go away
Me dicen que ya tus labios
I hear that your lips
Que han besado mucho más
Have kissed many others
Y que me entregue a tus brazos
And that I give myself to you again
Que todo vuelva a ser igual
So everything can return to how it was
Porque me amas
Because you love me
Escúchame que nunca jamás
Listen to me, it can never happen again
