Amphetamine Logic
ASP Lyrics

Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴  Line by Line Meaning ↴

Watch them do
The falling over
Watch them do
The standing still

Nothing but the knife to live for
One life all I need
Give me one good reason
Give me more ssss...

(Women) And the women come and go
(Talk) Talking about me like they know
(Men) Bought and sold
And the world keeps turning
People cold
And people burning

Nothing but the knife to live for
One life all I need
Give me one good reason
Give me more ssss...
Amphetamine logic

Hit up
Steel in hand
Lit up
Like candles
Burning
Like Catherine wheels
Turning
On

Nothing but the knife to live for
One life all I need
Give me one good reason
Give me more ssss...

Nothing but the knife to live for
One life all I need
Give me one good reason
Give me more ssss...

Nothing but the knife to live for
One life all I need
Give me one good reason
Give me more ssss...

Overall Meaning

ASP's song "Amphetamine Logic" presents a raw depiction of the gritty reality of life, where people are either falling or standing still. The lyrics describe how people often have nothing but a knife to live for, and they need more reasons to keep striving for survival. The song urges the listener to contemplate the world they live in, where people come and go, talking about each other without truly knowing them. The verses depict how people are bought and sold in a world that keeps turning, leaving some cold and others burning.

The chorus is the highlight of the song, where the word "ssss" is repeated, representing the feeling of an adrenaline rush that keeps people going despite the challenging circumstances. The song title, "Amphetamine Logic," also alludes to this concept where people use drugs as a means of escape and to carry on despite the odds.

The second part of the song talks about how people are ready to fight with steel in hand, expressing an urge to keep moving forward, burning like a Catherine wheel, and not get consumed by the vast darkness around them. The final chorus repeats the previous themes, where people are looking for a reason to keep going, and the only thing they have is the knife to live for.

Overall, ASP's Amphetamine Logic is an intense portrayal of the human struggle, highlighting the need for a purpose to keep going despite the odds.

Very nice cover!

@bloodscience1

Sounds great to me. It's different the Sisters but I don't think ASP ever said he sounded like Eldritch if so someone let me know. Both Sisters and ASP sound good to me? I know I can't sing like either so can't complain to much.
