It is a task that Detroit native Aaron-Carl has done consistently since 1996. As one of Detroit’s most in-demand producers & sought-after remixers, his signature sound crosses genres -- from soulful, gospel-infused House, to the dirtiest ghettotech anthems.
Hailed as a powerhouse in Detroit’s Electronic Music scene, with a discography to die for, he has remixed some of the Motor City’s biggest names – Underground Resistance, SCAN 7, AUX 88 & Kelli Hand; as well as international artists like Chicago House legend Dajae, Icelandic techno stars Gus Gus, and African jazz great Manu Dibango; to name a few.
As a vocalist, Aaron-Carl showcases a broad range. From the haunting chill of “Crucified” and “Sky”, to the seductive whispers of “Down” and “21 Positions”, to soul-stirring shouts of “Alright” and “My House”. AC prides himself in not just making records, but classics. His “let me tell you something about House music” acapella (appropriately titled “The Word”) is one of today’s most sampled House vocals, while “Down” is still a staple in the clubs – for more than a decade after its release.
AC also holds his own within the Hip Hop community -- particularly among the LGBT Hip Hop circles. Most notably producing hits for legendary rapper Johnny Dangerous, his remix of the infamous "Topsy Turvy" - in which he makes a cameo appearance -- is featured in the documentary, "Pick Up the Mic."
When he’s not producing or remixing, Aaron-Carl earns respect as a DJ. Countries throughout the world (France, Austria, Denmark and Iceland, to name a few) have experienced Carl’s “genderless” soul-stirring vocals mixed with a nice blend of house, techno and electro.
Aaron-Carl is the host of the weekly Internet radio show, The WARMTH Sessions. He is also the founder of the Detroit record label, Wallshaker Music.
After being diagnosed with cancer Aaron was optimistic. On his facebook page he wrote: ‘Finished the bone marrow biopsy. Ouch! Now I’m preparing for the lymph node removal. Surgery, here I come!’
Despite everyone’s effort he suddenly passed away on September 30th 2010. Most of all his warm heart will be missed deeply, besides that his music will live on forever.
So Beautiful

Your eyes appear to freeze me so I'll stay here
Everytime I try to make it stop
I realise this dream allows no leaving
I doubt that you can call this thing love
But it caught me, when I was sleeping
And now I'm running off from you
But this can't last forever
You show the universe
But we don't belong together
You are so beautiful
It's hard to say you'd better leave
We'd better part
Don't tell where you're going
Don't tell me where you're sleeping
'Cause I'm scared that I will follow
That I can't hold myself from reaching
It's an addiction to you
You are so beautiful
But this can't last forever
You show the universe
But we don't belong together
You are so beautiful
It's hard to say you'd better leave
We'd better part
It ain't easy to walk away from you
I lose reason when I see you move
Nothing but distance can help to resist this view
You are so beautiful
But this can't last forever
You show the universe
But we don't belong together
You are so beautiful
It's hard to say you'd better leave
We'd better part
In the lyrics of Aaron-Carl's song "So Beautiful," the singer appears to be captivated by a person whom they find visually stunning and alluring. The description of the person being "so beautiful" suggests a strong physical attraction and admiration. The singer is drawn to this person in a way that makes it difficult for them to break away, as implied by the lines "Your eyes appear to freeze me so I'll stay here" and "It caught me when I was sleeping." This sense of entrapment in a dreamlike state reflects the singer's struggle to separate themselves from the allure of this individual.
Despite the intense attraction, the singer acknowledges that the connection they share may not be sustainable or long-lasting. The repeated refrain "But this can't last forever" hints at a looming sense of impermanence or inevitability of the relationship's eventual end. The conflicting emotions of desire and rationality surface as the singer grapples with the realization that they may not truly belong together despite the undeniable beauty of the other person.
The lyrics also touch on themes of fear and dependency, with the singer admitting to being scared of following the other person and being unable to resist the pull towards them. The notion of addiction is introduced, suggesting an unhealthy reliance or obsession with the person they find so captivating. This addiction further complicates the singer's internal struggle between their intense feelings and the need for self-preservation.
As the song progresses, the singer contemplates the difficulty of walking away from the object of their affection. The internal conflict between longing and rationality is evident in lines like "It ain't easy to walk away from you," highlighting the emotional turmoil and inner battles faced by the singer. The acknowledgment that only distance can help resist the temptation of the other person illustrates a sense of resignation to the reality that their connection may not have a future. Ultimately, the song portrays a poignant and complex exploration of love, desire, and the painful acceptance of letting go for the betterment of both parties.
