Neville charted again, in 1989, when he collaborated with Linda Ronstadt on three consecutive duets: Don't Know Much, All My Life, and When Something Is Wrong with My Baby, the first two reached Number One on the Adult Contemporary charts. Neville has released more than 20 singles, including three Number Ones on the Adult Contemporary format, and a fourth on the R&B format.
His other hits have included Everybody Plays the Fool, his successful 1991 cover of the 1972 Main Ingredient song, that reached #8 on the Hot 100; Don't Take Away My Heaven, Hercules and Can't Stop My Heart From Loving You (The Rain Song). Neville's biggest solo successes have been on the Adult Contemporary chart, where "Don't Know Much," "All My Life," and "Everybody Plays the Fool" all reached Number One.
Aaron signed to SonyBMG's new Burgundy Records label in late 2005 and recorded an album of songs by Otis Redding, Marvin Gaye, Curtis Mayfield, Sam Cooke and others for Bring It On Home...The Soul Classics, released on September 19, 2006. I Found Another Love
Aaron Neville Lyrics
Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴ Line by Line Meaning ↴
'Cause I know, know, know
I have found another love
To take your place
Down down down came the tears
Since you went away and left me here
But up, up, up went my love, love, love
To take your place
Fast, fast, fast went the train
That took you to the arms of another man
But you can go, go, go
'Cause I know, know, know
I have found another love
To take your place
I thought that I could live without you
I thought that I would never love again
Someone came along with a love so strong
I forgot about you and once again
I feel like a man
Whoa, I have found a love that's true
I hope that you have done the same thing too
If you're not happy, don't come back to me
I have found another love to take your place
I have found another love to take your place
In Aaron Neville's "I Found Another Love," the lyrics explore the idea of losing and then moving on from a relationship. The song's opening lines suggest that the singer is letting their former partner go, acknowledging that they have found "another love to take your place." The following lines describe the emotional difficulty the singer faced after their partner left. "Down down down came the tears / Since you went away and left me here / But up, up, up went my love" suggest a shift in the singer's emotional state as they moved on from the relationship.
The song continues to describe how the singer thought they could live without their former partner, and expresses a sense of optimism that comes with finding a new love: "Someone came along with a love so strong / I forgot about you and once again / I feel like a man." The final lines of the song make it clear that the singer has no interest in going back to their former partner, as they "hope that you have done the same thing too / If you're not happy, don't come back to me / I have found another love to take your place."
