Absolom is a project by Christophe Chantzis, the same guy that's also part of the DJ Jan, DJ Glenn, Astroline and Ian Van Dahl projects.
Christophe has made remixes for Fiocco, Zohra and X-Session (all Belgian dance groups) but also for foreign groups like Future Breeze, Komakino, Organ and the Swedish Ace of Base. Together with DJ Jimmy Goldschmitz he created a few smash hits in the studio: "Secret", "Where", "The Air" and "Baby Boomers" should definitely be played on a party!
Live acts were done with Pascale Feront (vocals), two dancers (Cindy & Ellen) and Christophe behind the keyboards. Later Ellen joined Praga Khan.
Absolom es la prueba palpable de que el heavy metal es algo más que un estilo musical que se mantiene y crece en el tiempo. Es la constatación del empuje y la perseverancia en las ideas y las formas, en hacer lo que deseas por encima de los malos rollos y los golpes del destino. Absolom es la creación directa del que fuese batería de Azrael, Maolo. Tras una etapa cargada de incertidumbre, y cuando Absolom era sólo un proyecto, un incendio acabó con el local de ensayo y todo el equipo. No importó. Con la ayuda de muchos, Absolom salía adelante. En la Sala El Tren ofrecían uno de sus primeros conciertos tras reunir una nueva formación con la voz de José Cebrián y la siempre presente batería, contundente, implacable, de Maolo. El heavy clásico tiene en Absolom una de sus muestras más claras. Los matices de voz de Cebrian han dado altura al grupo, que cuenta con una magnífica conjunción entre la guitarra progresiva y un bajo de seis cuerdas, Antonio Ortiz, que juega a convertirse en guitarra solista. La inclusión de teclados, con Antonio Carrasco, le da un toque especial al sonido Absolom, crea atmósferas épicas y aires de balada. Absolom tienen imagen, una exquisita puesta en escena y, sobre todo, fuerza para el metal. Ahora comienzan una nueva andadura, ganas no le faltan. Dispuestos a entrar a saco en el corazón del metal.

Ik heb christophe nog gekend, helaas sinds deze met absolom gestopt is heb ik deze niet meer gezien, toffe kerel, kwam altijd na het optreden bij mij ;) en altijd in the mood om plezier te maken. Ik denk deze me na al die jaren niet meer zal herkennen (ben dan ook veel veranderd buite vroeger).
