Recently Adam and Joe have reached cult status again, this time through the medium of radio. Filling in for Ricky Gervais, Stephen Merchant and Karl Pilkington, they began a 3 year stint at London-only radio station Xfm in 2003, which spawned a series of popular podcasts. Their move to BBC6 Music in 2007 reached larger audiences and their mix of shambolic presentation, pop-culture discussion and original comedy songs (pitted against each other in “Song Wars”) has earned their Saturday morning show a hardcore fanbase and, somewhat reluctantly, its own unexplainable catchphrase: “STEPHEN!”

Kowloon Kowloon Hong Kong
We like Hong Kong

Walking down the street full of joy
Come here come here rickshaw boy
Take me down the street chop chop chop
A habba habba how ding how ding dong
Kowloon Kowloon Hong Kong
We like Hong Kong
That's the place for you
I hear the bells go ding-dong
Deep down inside my heart
Each time you say hug me
Then I know it's time for ding-dong to start
Each time you say kiss me
Ding-dong ding-dong
Each time you say love me

I hope I won't wait too long
To hear my bells go ding-dong

Lyrics:
You're bored, it's Sunday, six fifteen,
There's nothing else on the TV.
Check it out now it's the Antiques Roadshow,
Looking at old stuff, seeing if it's worth dough.
Fiona Bruce hosts the event,
Which comes this week from Stoke On Trent.
Check, check, check,
Check it out now it's the Antiques Roadshow,
Looking at old stuff, seeing if it's worth dough.
Where did you find this delightful Clock?
What a marvelously unusual jewellery box!
What a stunning lithograph of the Albert docks!
What a beautiful painting of hollyhocks!
I just adore this chest of drawers,
Of yours, it's from the civil war.
Check it out now it's the Antiques Roadshow,
Looking at old stuff, seeing if it's worth dough.
The sun is bright, the crowd's polite,
And mostly white but that's alright.
Check, check, check,
Check it out now it's the Antiques Roadshow,
Looking at old stuff, seeing if it's worth dough.
What's on the other side?
It's Brittannia High.
Boy that shows dumb,
Back to channel 1.
Here's a farmer with a suit of armour,
Man from Ghana with a stuffed llama.
Those cufflinks in the expert's hand,
Cost ten Bob but they're worth thirty grand!
Come bring your stuff to the BBC,
We'll evaluate your antiques for free,
You might even get to be on TV.

Britannia High. That dates this! Ahhh I adored the Adam and Joe show on Saturday mornings. I religiously downloaded the podcast back then. Listening now reminds me of those better times.
@jetjunkjiver8194
Only lasted a few years but was required listening at the time. Few manage to get music and laughs right on the radio but these guys did.
@englishbanana
I love this song. Joe's best ever?? Apart from the retro text the nation jingle.
@danielbrewster5362
Yes quite agree. I bet it won that weeks Song Wars. I bet @AdamBuxton must still be smarting over the Retro Text The Nation jingle.
@MedievalFolkDance
After all these years and many listens...
Does Joe know what a Bob is worth?
@MrChops27
I listened to the podcast on the tube the other day and when this came on I started giggling so much that I had to quickly think about sad things so I didn't look like a laughing looney. Great work Jo, now stop procrastinating and get on with some work!
@CheeseOnJellyTots
