Adam Faith Lyrics

Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴  Line by Line Meaning ↴

Well) If you want me
's alright
It's alright (It's alright)
It's alright (It's alright)
Well if you want me
It's alright
It's alright (It's alright)
It's alright (It's alright)

Call me
Any time that you want me
Any time that you want me
And I think that you might

You know how...
How I love ya
Believe me
How I love ya
Believe me

If you want me
's alright

[chorus]

[Guitar solo and Harmonica solo]

[chorus]

Give me
All the love that you got, dear
All the love that you got, dear
Come and hold me real tight

I really
Really love you a lot, dear
Really love you, so what dear?

If you want me
's alright

[chorus, repeat and fade]

Overall Meaning

The main message of Adam Faith's song It's Alright is about reassuring someone that they're wanted and loved, and that it's okay to reach out for support. The repeated phrase "If you want me, it's alright" acts as a comforting mantra throughout the song. The lyrics convey a sense of vulnerability and honesty, as the singer is willing to be vulnerable and offer love without any reservations or conditions.

The song opens with an invitation for the other person to call the singer at any time, which emphasizes the idea that their support is unconditional. The second verse emphasizes how deeply the singer loves the other person, which further reinforces the idea that their love is genuine and honest. The repeated chorus and guitar solos provide a sense of both familiarity and comfort, as if the melody itself is giving the listener a hug.

I do remember hearing this record on New York radio at the inception of the British Invasion we liked it and performed it with my band the Chordels.

Absolutely the best song from "Good Morning Vietnam" and they left the damned thing off the album. NVA record producer, no doubt.

After it's brief US chart run this awesome song got put out to pasture for more than 20 years until it's inclusion in the film "Good Morning Vietnam" unearthed it and brought life back to it and introduced it to the younger generations.

I admit I didn't listen much to music in 1964, but by 1967, that had changed. (girls). Adam Faith is a Brit that I never heard of until I saw him on here. Cliff Richard is anther one. I just don't think they got much air time in the States. Thanks to YouTube and the people posting them. . This is a GREAT song, I just love it. Such high energy, I want to get up and dance. The UK sure gave the world some great artists.

I remember watching Adam faith sing this song on Shindig when I was a sophomore in high school. It was one of the most exciting songs of the period.

@rickfisher1661

Haven't heard this in 50 years and it still sounded great.
