Satisfaction
Adam Lambert Lyrics
Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴ Line by Line Meaning ↴
I can't get no satisfaction
I can't get no satisfaction
'cause i try and i try and i try and i try
I can't get no, i can't get no
When i'm drivin' in my car
He's tellin' me more and more
About some useless information
Supposed to fire my imagination
I can't get no, oh no no no
Hey hey hey, that's what i say
I can't get no satisfaction
I can't get no satisfaction
'cause i try and i try and i try and i try
I can't get no, i can't get no
When i'm watchin' my tv
And that man comes on to tell me
How white my shirts can be
But he can't be a man 'cause he doesn't smoke
The same cigarrettes as me
I can't get no, oh no no no
Hey hey hey, that's what i say
I can't get no satisfaction
I can't get no girl reaction
'cause i try and i try and i try and i try
I can't get no, i can't get no
When i'm ridin' round the world
And i'm doin' this and i'm signing that
And i'm tryin' to make some girl
Who tells me baby better come back later next week
'cause you see i'm on losing streak
I can't get no, oh no no no
Hey hey hey, that's what i say
I can't get no, i can't get no
I can't get no satisfaction
No satisfaction, no satisfaction, no satisfaction
The Rolling Stones' iconic song "Satisfaction" is an anthem for rebellious youth and the frustration of not being able to find contentment in the conformist world around them. The lyrics express the singer's exasperation with his inability to find satisfaction in his life, no matter how hard he tries or how much he achieves. The phrase "I can't get no satisfaction" is repeated several times throughout the song, emphasizing the singer's sense of futility and growing dissatisfaction. The song's opening riff is instantly recognizable and captures the energy and rebelliousness of the times, making it a classic rock staple.
The first verse describes the singer's frustration while driving in his car and hearing someone on the radio sharing useless information that does nothing to stimulate his imagination. In the second verse, he is watching TV, and someone is talking about how to keep white shirts clean, but the singer is more concerned about the fact that the singer doesn't smoke the same cigarettes as him, suggesting a cultural divide. The third verse is about the singer's travels around the world, where he is trying to get a girl's attention, but she tells him to come back later because she's not interested, leaving him feeling increasingly unsatisfied.
To summarize, the song "Satisfaction" illustrates the struggles of individuals in conformist societies, who are searching for satisfaction and meaning in their lives but constantly facing disappointment and frustration because of societal norms and expectations.

This was the first time I saw Adam and LOVE his performance. I'm still blown away every time I watch this. I thought he was going to WIN it. What is Simon talking about that is "BAD"? He was amazing and nothing like the other contestants.
Val MacClinchy
Adam has said that Simon was much nicer than he appeared to be on the show.

what a voice of Angel! And such a rock strength
Val MacClinchy
Absolutely the velvet voice of an angel. Brian May calls him Queen's "gift from God"! Otherworldly vocals and a genuinely great person, too. 💖

Myowngrandpa
@Gael Padra You're so stupid! Being racist has to do with the color of someone's skin. Has nothing to do with the fact they want to be with the same sex. You don't just become an Angel because you died. I guess whatever planet you're from don't have Bibles. Please get one. Start reading immediately.
