Their third compilation volume of non-album tracks from the archives was released in July 2006 on People Like You Records: "Longshot Songs for Broke Players 2001-2004". This 24-track CD and LP includes songs culled from singles (A & B 's), rarities, compilations, unreleased tunes, etc. Adam West followed up the release of this album with their seventh tour of Europe in October/November 2006.

Adam West was formed in the early 1990s, when singer Jake Starr decided to form a 60s garage band. Adam West started gigging around Washington, D.C. and soon built up a local following. Jake immediately started his own label, Fandango Records, and started recording and releasing Adam West material. Their first single in 1993 "I Get a Sensation" was a rave-up garage slice and got Adam West international attention. As of the beginning of 2006, Adam West has released circa 30 7-inch singles, one 10-inch EP, eight CDs, and has made over 35 high-profile appearances on various compilation CDs.

Shield Your Eyes
Adam West Lyrics

You've gotta come around
And I know you're talking
About me all around this town
And I know you're thinking
That I'm coming on too strong
You've gotta realize
That I've got it goin' on
But you had to turn away
When I walked into the room
Had to shield your eyes
I've got the best in me
And I know you're thinking
I move electrically
And I'm truly feeling
That I'm coming on too strong
I had to walk to run
To have it goin' on
The lyrics to Adam West's song Shield Your Eyes convey a message of self-confidence and the desire to be recognized. The song talks about how the singer's presence is talked about around town and how they are considered too imposing. Despite this, the singer believes in themselves and knows that they have "got it going on." However, when they walk into a room, someone turns away and shields their eyes, perhaps a sign of rejection or discomfort caused by the singer's strong presence. To the singer, this is just another hurdle to overcome as they believe that they have the best in them and move "electrically," suggesting a magnetic and powerful force that draws people in.
The song's lyrics are relatable to anyone who has ever felt like an outsider or has been rejected. It's a test of self-confidence and the ability to stand up for oneself despite what others may think or say. The message of the song is one of empowerment, encouraging listeners to embrace their own unique qualities and not be afraid to show them to the world.
