Ubique Daemon
Ador Dorath Lyrics
Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴ Line by Line Meaning ↴
Do you really think
I'm what you take me for?
Why?
Ego ut dei minister
Praecipio vobis
ut recedatis
ab hac creatura dei
But I'm not your pray!
The first line of the song, "Ubique daemon" means "Everywhere is a demon". The lyrics suggest that the singer is questioning the perceptions of others about him or her. He or she is asking if the others truly think that they are what they seem to be. The singer then states that he or she is not a simple prey.
The lyrics then switch to a quote from the Latin Vulgate Bible that reads "Ego ut dei minister Praecipio vobis spiritus immundi ut recedatis ab hac creatura dei" which translates to "I command you, unclean spirits, to depart from this creature of God, just as the minister of God". This quote is used within exorcisms, and the singer seems to be conveying a sense of power over the spirits within him or herself.
