With their musical roots in bands like Klinik or Suicide Commando this release got lots of admiration as well as criticism but all agreed on one thing: “Voll auf die Fresse, voll auf den Dancefloor.” Full in the face, full on the dance floor! This album Paranoid Destruction entered the DAC (Deutsche Alternative Charts) at Number 7, and AGONOIZE remained in the charts for 8 weeks.
Their second release Open the Gate / To Paradise entered the DAC top 10.
The album, which saw the light of day in October 2004, eradicated all comparisons to other bands and shows what enormous potential is simmering in AGONOIZE.
Club hits alternate with atmospheric songs without the album being boring. Of course this will also raise some questions, but those who saw AGONOIZE live are convinced that they put on a unique show. The live performances with their captive and sometimes brutal scenes show the deepest abyss of mankind and hold the audience spellbound.
Established at the end of 2002 by Mike Johnson and Olli Senger, it soon became apparent that to have a real good presence on stage they needed a good front man. This person was found in the form of front man Chris L. Now nothing stood in the way of AGONOIZE building up the group.
The album and the resulting spin-off numbers were easily written, and following the first concert after the release of their first MCD, nothing could stop them. Their first concert was in April ’04 in Edinburgh, at the Dark City Festival with VNV Nation. This was followed by a concert in Berlin as the support act of [:SITD:], who in return provided a great remix of the Paranoid Destruction MCD.
For The Sick And Disturbed
Agonoize Lyrics

What the hell is wrong with you?
The way you look, the way you are
You think you are a fuckin' star
The way you smile, the way you talk
I even hate the way you walk
You speak of truth when you lie
You make me sick, leave me alone
Wake up, get a life on your own
Fuck you!
I just hate people like you!
Fuck you!
I just hate people like you!
Your world is a lie, your truth is not mine
Your words don't hurt
This one goes out to the sick and disturbed
This is when two worlds collide
The choice to be made, you decide
I'm not the one who eats the dirt
This one goes out to the sick
The sick and disturbed
Don't stare at me the way you do
Don't stare at me, I'm not like you
I'm not the freak, you've gone too far
The real scum is what you are
Fuck you and your lies
Shut up, it's not advise
Don't speak, don't speak to me
It's my life as you can see
Fuck you!
Your world is a lie, your truth is not mine
Your words don't hurt
This one goes out to the sick and disturbed
This is when two worlds collide
The choice to be made, you decide
I'm not the one who eats the dirt
This one goes out to the sick
The sick and disturbed
The song is a tirade against a particular person who seems to have made the singer's life miserable. The opening lyrics "What the hell is wrong with you?" are a clear indication of the anger and frustration felt towards this person. The singer cannot stand how the person looks, speaks, and even walks. It seems that this person tries to project themselves as a star, but their behavior is perceived as fake and even sickening. The singer wants them to leave and get a life of their own. The repeated refrain of "fuck you" expresses the singer's contempt and hatred towards the person, who they describe as a liar and scum.
The song also speaks about the difference between the sick and disturbed person's world and the singer's world. The singer equates the sick and disturbed person's world with lies, and their truth is not the same as the singer's truth. The singer repeatedly says that the sick and disturbed person's words don't hurt as they are different and do not resonate with their experiences. A choice needs to be made, and it is up to the sick and disturbed person to decide what kind of world they want to live in.
