Ali Zafar made his debut as a musician with the album "Huqa Pani", released in Pakistan in 2003 and worldwide in 2005. The album was an instant hit, selling over five million copies worldwide and winning several major awards and nominations. It also put Ali into the league of the most popular artists ever to have come out of Pakistan with a massive fan following locally and internationally. Ali has been to 11 different countries worldwide and has performed at more than almost 200 shows infront of thousands of fans from all over the globe. In so little time and such young age Ali has one album to his credit and has won the hearts of millions with his multi faceted personality and the magical voice and is all set to rock the world with his second album βMastyβ.
"I had a dream. That dream became reality in 2003 with the huge success of my first album βHuqa Paniβ. It was the fulfillment of that dream that made me realize that we only dream what is real. Nothing exists that can only be imagined and not achieved one day. Itβs all about working hard and putting the right things at the right time in their right place. For this weβre nurtured with the appetite of hope. But I learned that itβs not only about working hard and putting the right things at the right time in their right place. Itβs about Faith. The moment you lose it, it loses you. Your dreams start looking unreal, too big for you. In the course of working day and night on the album traveling to different studios in different countries working with all sorts of people, good and bad, nasty and nice, liars and honest ones, I sometimes almost dropped in disappointment and fatigue thinking to myself that itβs not worth it. But what kept me going was faith. Faith in God. This album is about that and the realization of our dreams that follows. If my music helps one single soul to accomplish his dream, my job is done. Love to all." - Ali Zafar

Hai tu kahaan, chandani hai raatein
Tu Jaanay Na, Mere Dil ki baatein
Hai tu kahaan, chandani hai raatein
sara jag jaane hai, tu hi na maane hai
Sara jag jaane hai, tu hi na maane hai
Jaane Na, Jaane Na, Jaane Na, Jaane Na,
Tu Jaanay Na, Mere Dil ki baatein
raat bhar betha main sochu yahin,
meri zindagi mein tu hai ki nahi.
teri yaad aati hai, dil ko satati hai
teri yaad aati hai, dil ko satati hai
ab Jaaun main kahaan...
Jaanu Na, Jaanu Na, Jaanu Na, Jaanu Na
Tu Jaanay Na, Mere Dil ki baatein
lage sara jag soona soona mujhe
tere bina zindagi kategi kaise
lage sara jag soona soona mujhe
tere bina zindagi kategi kaise
ab aaja piya na jaye jiya
ab aaja piya na jaye jiya
Mujhe le chal tu apne jahaan
Jaanu Na, Jaanu Na, Jaanu Na, Jaanu Na
Tu Jaanay Na, Mere Dil ki baatein
Hai tu kahaan chandani hai raatein
sara jag jaane hai, tu hi na maane hai
sara jag jaane hai, tu hi na maane hai
mere dil ki Zubaan...
Jaane Na, Jaane Na, Jaane Na, Jaane Na
Jaane Na, Jaane Na, Jaane Na, Jaane Na
In this song, the singer is addressing someone who they seem to have strong feelings for - almost certainly a romantic partner. The singer is struggling to articulate their emotions and thoughts, and is worried that the other person may not feel the same way about them. They repeat the refrain "Tu Jaanay Na, Mere Dil ki baatein" - "You don't know the thoughts in my heart" - conveying a sense of helplessness and vulnerability. The use of the second person "tu" throughout the song also underscores the intimacy and closeness of the relationship - this speaker is clearly talking to someone they are deeply connected to.
Throughout the song, the singer uses evocative imagery to paint a picture of their emotional state. The lines "sara jag jaane hai, tu hi na maane hai" ("the whole world knows but you don't believe it") suggest that others may be aware of the singer's feelings and the nature of their relationship, but their partner doesn't seem to fully grasp it. The use of the image of moonlit nights ("chandani hai raatein") conjures a sense of romantic longing and desire, while the repeated refrain of "jaane na" ("don't know") highlights the singer's frustration at being unable to communicate their thoughts and desires clearly.
Overall, the song expresses a sense of longing, vulnerability and uncertainty that will be familiar to anyone who has struggled to communicate their emotions to someone they care about. The use of vivid imagery and repetition creates a powerful sense of emotion and intimacy, making "Tu Jaanay Na" a moving and heartfelt love song.
