The band managed to score four Top 20 singles in their two year career. The first was the theme tune to STARStreet*. "Best Friends", which peaked at Number 20 in June 2001, was a favourite on the pop video channels. The second was a double-a-side of their own track, "Things That Go Bump In The Night", and a cover of Duran Duran's "Is There Something I Should Know?", the former track later appearing on the soundtrack to the first Scooby Doo movie. It reached Number 12 in September 2001.
Their third single, released in January 2002, was another cover, this time of Bucks Fizz's "Land Of Make Believe", and it gave them their first and only top 10 hit, reaching Number 9. Their fourth single, released in late April 2002, was another double-a-side, but this time both were original tracks. "Back When" and "Going All The Way", the latter appearing on the soundtrack to the movie Thunderpants. However, this could only reach Number 19 in the end, and when their self titled debut only managed to reach Number 43 - spending only 2 weeks in the UK Top 75 - the band parted ways with their record company, Island, and split up soon after.

You hear a creek on the stair
You got a knock on your door
Is there anybody out there?
They're out to get you
To capture you and make you swear about
Howling and Prowling
Swear by
You cannot run
And you cannot hide
Yea you gotta face it baby things go bump in the night
Where ever you run and where ever you hide
Yea you gotta face it baby things go bump bump bump in the night
Tell me whose spooking who
You hear a shrek in the house
You know its freaking me out
They're out to get you
To capture you and make you swear about
Howling and Prowling
Your shivering and quivering
Swear by
You cannot run
And you cannot hide
Yea you gotta face it baby things go bump in the night
Where ever you run and where ever you hide

The lyrics of Allstars's song "Things That Go Bump In The Night" convey the feeling of being spooked and haunted by mysterious creatures that come out at night. The song warns the listener to be careful and to stick to the path when there is a full moon. There is a sense of danger and fear, as the creatures are out to get you and make you spellbound. The chorus emphasizes that you cannot run or hide from these creatures, and that you must face them. The repetitive chanting of "Who's spookin' who" and the Scooby Doo reference adds a playful tone to the song.
The lyrics of this song also suggest that the fear of things that go bump in the night is universal and timeless. The creaking sound on the stairs, the chill in the air, and the feeling of being watched are all experiences that people can relate to when they are scared. The song taps into our primal fears and reminds us that the sensation of being spooked is a part of being human.
Overall, "Things That Go Bump In The Night" is a fun and spooky song that captures the essence of Halloween and the thrill of being spooked.
