I didn't know the world was filled with such greed
I wasn't expecting the world to be as selfish and avaricious as it is.

I'm simply requesting that you extend compassion and listen to my heart's desires.

And I know they still exist
I'm aware that there are still good-hearted people who act with sincerity and kindness.

It's commonly believed that there is always room for knowledge and growth in life.

I want to learn to forget all this dismay
I aspire to unburden myself from the emotional distress I've experienced.

At finding out the way that some folks play
I've become disillusioned by the tactics employed by some individuals to attain their goals.

It seems that only those with questionable methods achieve success, leaving moral uprightness behind.

Nothing here is sacred
In life, there are few things that are considered unique and irreplaceable.

The golden calf we worshipped has fallen from its shrine
The material possessions that we placed great value in have lost their worth and importance.

And left us standing here stranded
We're left alone and helpless in the wake of our misplaced priorities.

Our only hope's to abandon
Our only option is to relinquish these superficial desires and change our goals.

These foolish dreams that we've pursued for far too long
We've spent too much of our lives chasing unrealistic and trivial goals.
