Neigung zum Nichts
Angizia Lyrics

[HOMUNKULUS]
Ich bin leer und träge,
Ich jag' mich fort von hier.
Kein Funken an mir läge,
An diesem Ort und dir.
Leb wohl, meine Plage.
Leb wohl, mein Kokon
Ich bin Tier und Ekel,
Ein Tanz noch mich erregt.
Mein Hader mit dem Makel
Hat das Dasein hier zerlegt.
Leb wohl, meine Plage.
Leb wohl, mein Kokon
Kokon!
[Cello]
[FRAU JANSEN]
Wie oft ist eine Schachtel
Geübt in öder Pein?
Genährt nur am Lichte,
Karg ist ihr Schein.
Leb wohl, mein Gestade
Leb wohl, mein Kokon
Mein Kokon!
Du, mein Werk, so töricht,
Ein Fluch, der auf dir ruht.
Wozu mit Flammen richten,
Sich quälen in der Wut.
Leb wohl, mein Gestade
Leb wohl, mein Kokon
...mein Kokon!
[Cello]
[HOMUNKULUS]
Es lodert in mir fort
Der Kokon schmort und schmort.
In tiefer, stiller Erde - gebt! -
Kein Herz und kein Gedanke lebt.
Kriech' auf der Erde hin, du Tor!,
Der Teufel rief empor.
Wenn von aller Freud' und Lust,
Von Daseins blanker Zier,
Mir Scheusal nichts gewährt?
Wozu ward dies Leben mir?
Ich bin frei und brenne.
Ich jag' mich fort von hier.
Mein Stück ist hier zu Ende,
Der Beifall gilt nur mir.
Schüsse.
Mir...
Mir...
[Cello]
Nun lieg' ich endlich sanft gestreckt.
Nie wieder ihr mich auferweckt.
Ihr wolltet Teufels Wunder tun,
Doch nun lasst mich ruh'n.
The lyrics for Angizia's "Neigngung zum Nichts" depict the internal struggles of Homunkulus, who presents himself as an empty and sluggish being that is trying to escape from his own existence. He feels disconnected from everyone and everything around him, with no spark or joy motivating him to remain. He sees himself as an animal and a revulsion, and the only thing that excites him is the dance of destruction - his destructive impulse towards the imperfections of the world he lives in.
In the second part of the song, Frau Jansen, a character who symbolizes Homunkulus' creator, appears, revealing her disappointment with the world she has created. To her, life is only a means of empty survival, lacking any real meaning or beauty. She describes Homunkulus as a mistake, a curse that she regrets creating, and encourages him to abandon his futile search for purpose and rest in peace.
Finally, Homunkulus accepts his fate and surrenders to the void, knowing that he will never find true happiness, meaning, or peace in a world that is inherently flawed and empty. The gunshot at the end represents his final escape from the cycle of pain and futility.

If nothing is granted to me, the monster, amidst all joy and pleasure, all the beauty of existence, why was this life granted to me? I am free and burning, I want to escape from here. My part is over, the applause is only for me.
