Annette recorded her first song, "How Will I Know My Love" in 1958, after first singing it in a scene on The Mickey Mouse Club. Thousands of people called the studio wanting to buy the record after the episode aired. It was soon followed by "Tall Paul", "First Name Initial" and "Pineapple Princess", along with many others. During these early recordings, musician & producer Tutti Camarata developed the famous "Annette Sound", a method of double tracking her vocals for a richer, fuller sound, a process still widely used today. It was in 1959 that she made her big screen debut in Walt Disney’s "The Shaggy Dog", her first of several Disney films.
In 1963 Annette starred in her first non Disney movie alongside Frankie Avalon in "Beach Party", the first of many in the iconic Beach Party series. She appeared in The Monkees' 1968 film, Head, and later, 1987's "Back To The Beach", which would ultimately be her last role. Annette's then recent diagnosis with multiple sclerosis and the symptoms of the disease would prove too difficult for her to continue acting. She hid the diagnosis until 1992, going public to correct rumors that her impairments were a result of alcoholism.
In 1993, she opened the Annette Funicello Fund for Neurological Disorders, to help find a cure for MS. She made her last public appearance in 1996 on an episode of “Biography”, about her life. After 15 years outside of the public eye, and nearly 25 years of battling the disease, Annette Funicello died on April 8, 2013 from complications of MS.

Hunt you down eat you alive
Just like animals, animals, like animals-mals
Maybe you think that you can hide
I can smell your scent from miles
Just like animals, animals, like animals-mals
Baby, I'm
So what you trying to do to me
It's like we can't stop we're enemies
But we get along when I'm inside you
You're like a drug that's killing me
I cut you out entirely
But I get so high when I'm inside you
Yeah, you can start over, you can run free
You can find other fish in the sea
You can pretend it's meant to be
But you can't stay away from me
I can still hear you making that sound
Taking me down, rolling on the ground
You can pretend that it was me
But no
Baby, I'm preying on you tonight
Hunt you down eat you alive
Just like animals, animals, like animals-mals
Maybe you think that you can hide
I can smell your scent from miles
Just like animals, animals, like animals-mals
Baby, I'm
So if I run it's not enough
You're still in my head forever stuck
So you can do what you wanna do
I love your lies, I'll eat 'em up
But don't deny the animal
That comes alive when I'm inside you
Yeah, you can start over you can run free
You can find other fish in the sea
You can pretend it's meant to be
But you can't stay away from me
I can still hear you making that sound
Taking me down rolling on the ground
You can pretend that it was me
But no
Baby, I'm preying on you tonight
Hunt you down eat you alive
Just like animals, animals, like animals-mals
Maybe you think that you can hide
I can smell your scent from miles
Just like animals, animals, like animals-mals
Baby, I'm
Don't tell no lie-lie-lie-lie
You can't deny-ny-ny-ny
The beast inside-side-side-side
Yeah, yeah, yeah
No, girl, don't lie-lie-lie-lie
You can't deny-ny-ny-ny
The beast inside-side-side-side
Yeah, yeah, yeah
Yo...
Whoa...
Whoa...
Just like animals, animals, like animals-mals
Just like animals (yeah...), animals (yeah...), like animals-mals (yeah...)
Ow
Baby, I'm preying on you tonight
Hunt you down eat you alive
Just like animals, animals, like animals-mals
Maybe you think that you can hide
I can smell your scent from miles
Just like animals, animals, like animals-mals
Baby, I'm
Don't tell no lie-lie-lie-lie
You can't deny-ny-ny-ny
That beast inside-side-side-side
Yeah, yeah, yeah
No, girl, don't lie-lie-lie-lie
You can't deny-ny-ny-ny
That beast inside-side-side-side
Yeah, yeah, yeah
The song "Animals" by Maroon 5 is about desire, specifically about the desire that is so overwhelming that it's difficult to control. The lyrics describe two people who have a strong attraction to each other, but at the same time, they recognize that they are "enemies" who "can't stop" and "try to consume each other." Adam Levine, the lead vocalist, uses animal imagery to describe the intensity of his desire. The lyrics compare the lovers to wild animals that are hunting each other, and the language used is almost predatory in nature. The lyrics suggest that the attraction is so strong that the lovers are incapable of thinking rationally and are consumed by their animalistic desires. In the end, they both give up and embrace their primal instincts, giving in to their desires.

🐶🐯🐻🐸🐼🐧🐙🐢🐩Rest in peace, Annette Funicello 💐
Watching this now in Pajama Party (1964) after boyfriend picked ridiculous argument with me, ran into bedroom, & slammed door. Song was coincidentally sung the exact second after his temper tantrum.
