Cuyas madres animan a marchar
Creyendo que el otro lado del mar
Es la tierra prometida
Las compañías a cambio de dinero
Se frotan las manos
Aunque solo sea por unas mijajas
Los gobiernos bajan los brazo
El mundo se limita a constatar"
The lyrics to Antonio Orozco's Por Que No Les Devuelves El Sol tackle a range of social and political issues such as war, poverty, oppression, and corruption. The opening lines "Pluma y esmero, las armas que usaré, los golpes del tintero, los únicos que daré" suggest that the artist will use his pen as a weapon to fight against injustices. He acknowledges the urgency of his message, "Pedirlo es lo que debo, y sentirlo es lo que siento" and apologizes for being late to respond because of the impacts of war, "Las bombas cayeron, y todo empezó a arder".
The song highlights the struggles of people who have lost their loved ones and possessions to war and are begging for answers and solutions from those in power. The lyrics "Por que no me devuelves el sol, la casa, mi familia, y carbón" are particularly powerful as they express the desperation of a person who has lost everything and is begging for their life back. The song also touches on the issue of immigration and how people are forced to leave their homes in search of a better life because of unfavorable political and economic conditions, "Creyendo que el otro lado del mar, es la tierra prometida".
