Quise contar lo que pasó
En el rincón sin nombre donde dormité
De numero 229
Cuentan que tomé
Lo que aguanté, que supliqué
Volverte a ver
Sin verte amor
Otra puta vez
Me equivoqué
Y no encontré, como la otra vez
La forma de decirte
Que por más lejos que estemos
Más trincheras que cavemos
Más disparos, mas silencios
Y más lagrimas de enero
Sin saber si volveremos
Si el permiso será eterno
Que te sirvan éstas líneas
"pa" que sepas, que te quiero
En esta situación sin nombre
Cuentan que se fue
Que no volvió al atardecer
Y yo encontré la carta que
No te envió, de titulo
"amarte es para siempre"
Otra puta vez
Tocó perder
Y no volver
Como la otra vez
Que no supo decirte
Que por más lejos que estemos
Más trincheras que cavemos
Más disparos, mas silencios
Y más lagrimas de enero
Sin saber si volveremos
Si el permiso será eterno
Que te sirvan éstas líneas
"pa" que sepas, que te quiero
En esta situación sin nombre
In "Soldado 229," Antonio Orozco tells the story of a soldier who is struggling with being away from his loved one. He speaks of a time when he was sleeping in room 229, a place without a name, and of how he wished to share what happened in that space. Despite trying to endure the separation and pleading to see his love again, he feels like he keeps making mistakes and is unable to express what he truly wants to say.
The soldier's confusion and pain are evident in the lyrics when he talks about losing and not finding a way to tell his beloved how much he loves her. He acknowledges that the distance between them, no matter how far, no matter what trials they face, and no matter how many bullets they dodge, he will always love her. The final paragraphs talk about the possibility of not returning, about January tears and the uncertainty of the soldier's future with his love.
In this song, Orozco highlights the emotional turmoil and heartache of being away from a loved one during difficult times. It is a testament to the strength of the human heart and the determination to love, even when it's painful and uncertain.
