The lyrics of Antonio Orozco's song "Tantas Dudas" delve into the complexities and contradictions of relationships and the various uncertainties that can arise. The song begins by acknowledging the multitude of things that the singer knows, some of which they perhaps shouldn't. This line suggests that the singer is aware of truths or realities that may complicate their understanding of love and relationships.
The following lines highlight the constant presence of doubt in their lives. The singer describes the moments when they often say no (perhaps to committing or taking risks) and the moments when they say yes (embracing opportunities or taking chances). These contrasting experiences lead to an abundance of doubts, reflecting the internal conflict and confusion they feel.
The chorus introduces a contrast between the singer's perspective on love and the desires of their partner. The singer describes wanting a love without possessiveness, appreciating the "te quieros" (I love yous) that their partner offers. However, their partner seeks to be the sole person in their world, desiring exclusivity. This divergence in desires creates an imbalance in the relationship.
The repeated line "quizás es mejor entender" (maybe it's better to understand) suggests that the singer has come to the realization that love is not the same as wanting or desiring. It implies that understanding this difference can bring clarity and perhaps peace to their relationship.
The second verse continues to explore the singer's perspective, emphasizing the importance of truly understanding their emotions and acknowledging that their desired future might not come to fruition. The singer reflects on their partner's relentless pursuit of success, forgetting to appreciate the present and the singer's support and love. The mention of the "cuna" (cradle) represents the singer's role as a source of comfort and stability.
The chorus is repeated again, emphasizing the contrasting desires and priorities between the singer and their partner. The singer cherishes the truth of a genuine kiss, while their partner seeks external rewards and recognition. The singer recognizes that their partner is losing sight of what truly matters, and they seem to imply that the partner's pursuit of material success is causing them to miss out on deeper emotional connections.
The bridge introduces the idea that the singer's world doesn't understand the need for concealment in their partner's world, suggesting a lack of transparency or honesty. The line "No hay forma si no es el gladiador" (There's no way if it isn't the gladiator) implies that their partner's approach to love and relationship is competitive or confrontational, perhaps creating an environment that doesn't allow for vulnerability or trust.
The final repetition of the chorus reinforces the central message of the song, emphasizing that love and desire are not inherently the same. The lyrics remind the audience of the conflicting desires and doubts that the singer experiences, presenting a nuanced understanding of the complexities of relationships. The repetition of "hay tantas cosas que sé, tantas que no debería saber" (there are so many things I know, so many I shouldn't know) serves as a reminder of the ongoing uncertainties and internal conflicts that the singer faces.
