Before their unfortunate demise, Apocalypse Hoboken toured with the likes of The Vandals, The Ataris, Ten Foot Pole, Less Than Jake, Swingin' Utters, Agent Orange, Guttermouth, Strung Out, Bigwig, Suicide Machines, At the Drive In, Murder City Devils, and appeared on West Coast dates of the Warped Tour.
Their last show in 2003 sold out Chicago's Metro, and though they haven't recorded a shred of new music in five years, demand for their live act has never been greater. A reunion at the Abbey Pub with all-original members promises to be a highlight of 2006.

Submissive Wetter
Apocalypse Hoboken Lyrics
Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴ Line by Line Meaning ↴
It's lonely at the bus stop
Curtain call a hairlip on the end
Funeral parade rainy morning
Put to rest another wasted week
I don't care bout soaking up the cider
All my brothers have stabbed me in the back
Stinking up old man Peterson
Little Richie found a place to hide
(Keep 'em running)
Scream children scream
The rice is cold the kettle's overflowing
The warm skin dawns a sunny morning
A thousand eyes staring back at me
The sweet sounds of neighbors moaning
Skinned knees on blood stained sheets
Lather up the world's crumbling
Tick tock baby you don't stop
Torn denim on a rusty swing set
Another stillborn on Oak Street bench
The lyrics to Apocalypse Hoboken's song Submissive Wetter present a conflicted and chaotic state of mind through fragmented snapshots of everyday life. The opening lines juxtapose the mundanity of a cold bowl of rice and an overflowing kettle with the isolation of waiting at a bus stop. The reference to a hairlip suggests a disfigured and marginalized person, further emphasizing the sense of being an outsider. The phrase "funeral parade rainy morning" evokes a somber and gloomy atmosphere, which is compounded by the declaration of another wasted week being put to rest.
The singer's disillusionment with the world is further highlighted by the line "All my brothers have stabbed me in the back." This suggests a lack of trust and betrayal from those closest to him. The presence of "old man Peterson" and "another rash" suggests the singer's struggles with aging and illness. The mention of "Little Richie" hiding implies a sense of fear and danger looming in the background.
The second half of the lyrics introduce a more sensual and violent tone, with the "sweet sounds of neighbors moaning" and "skinned knees on blood-stained sheets." The phrase "lather up the world's crumbling" suggests a sense of resignation towards the decay of society. The refrain "scream children scream" seems to offer a release of pent-up frustration and anger. The final line "another stillborn on Oak Street bench" is a poignant reminder of the fragility and ultimate futility of life.
