Armand Amar Lyrics

Poem Of The Butterflies

Overall Meaning

The lyrics of Armand Amar's song "Poem of the Butterflies" reflect a philosophical idea about love and its effects. The metaphor used here is that of three butterflies flying around a candle's flame. Each of the three butterflies has a distinct experience with the flame, and they share their knowledge with one another. The first butterfly acknowledges that it knows what love is. The second butterfly has a better understanding of love, warning that passion can lead to destruction, and one must be careful around it. The third butterfly falls into the flame and gets consumed by it, becoming one with the flame. It suggests that true love involves a complete surrender and sacrifice of oneself, getting consumed by the passion.

The poem has a deeper meaning that goes beyond love. It can be interpreted as a commentary on the human experience itself. People are like those three butterflies, each with their own perception of life. The first butterfly with its limited knowledge and experience, the second butterfly with a better understanding of the human experience and the danger that exists in the world, and the third butterfly that has surrendered to life itself, burned away its ego and transcended its existence. In essence, the poem is about the process of maturity and self-realization, a journey that requires one to embrace suffering, grow through experience, and surrender oneself to the ultimate truth.

I think the lyrics are an Armenian folk song "Msho Gorani". But i cannot be quite sure about that.
