This was followed by the album 'Massive Luxury Overdose' (1991). La Camilla left the band and released a single 'I Am Not In The Mood For Lovers'. The Group replaced La Camilla with Michaela De La Cour, they re-released 'Massive Luxury Overdose' with extra tracks & with De La Cour on the new album artwork.

Army of Lovers have always been special, controversial, colourful and creative, mainly due to their image and witty pop songs.
Their name alludes to a documentary Armee der Liebenden oder Revolte der Perversen (Army of Lovers or Revolution of the Perverts) about Rosa von Praunheim, which in turn alludes to the Theban Band.
Crucified
Army of Lovers Lyrics

Crucified like my savior
Saintlike behavior
A lifetime I prayed
I'm crucified
For the holy dimension
Godlike ascension
I've seen the deepest darkness
And wrestled with gods
Ride the noble harness
Raining cats and dogs
I stand before my maker
Like Moses on the hill
My Guinness record baker
I abide your will
The first of reciters
I saw eternal light
Best of vocal fighters
Beyond human sight
Where thorns are a teaser
I've played a double jeux
Yherushalaim at Easter
I cry I pray mon dieu
I cry I pray mon dieu
I'm crucified
Crucified like my savior
Saintlike behavior
A lifetime I prayed
I'm crucified
For the holy dimension
Godlike ascension
Heavens away
Prophets I've been reading
Stories I've been told
Before I end my breathing
I travel in the soul
Where thorns are a teaser
I've played a double jeux
Yherushalaim at Easter
I cry I pray mon dieu
I cry I pray mon dieu
I cry I pray mon dieu
Adieu mon dieu
I'm crucified
Crucified like my savior
Saintlike behavior
A lifetime I prayed
I'm crucified
For the holy dimension
Godlike ascension
Heavens away
I'm crucified
for the holy dimension
Godlike ascension
Heavens away
I'm crucified
Crucified like my savior
Saintlike behavior
A lifetime I prayed
I'm crucified
For the holy dimension
Godlike ascension
Heavens away
The song "Crucified" by Army of Lovers is a powerful anthem that speaks of sacrifice, redemption, and religious devotion. The lyrics convey a sense of reverence and awe towards the divine, as the singer compares their own suffering and struggles to those of Jesus Christ. The opening lines, "I'm crucified, crucified like my savior," immediately set the tone for the song, indicating that the singer is undergoing a similar experience of pain, persecution, and triumph. The phrase "saintlike behavior" reinforces this idea, as the singer strives to live up to the standards of holiness and purity expected of a true believer.
The next line, "A lifetime I prayed," suggests that the singer has dedicated their entire existence to worship and supplication, seeking to connect with the divine on a deep and meaningful level. The following verse continues to highlight the singer's spiritual journey, as they reference "the deepest darkness" and "wrestling with gods." This implies that the path to enlightenment is not easy, but involves struggle, conflict, and sacrifice. As the singer stands before their maker, they acknowledge their own mortality and humility, comparing themselves to Moses and submitting to God's will.
The final verse reinforces the theme of journey and transformation, as the singer speaks of reading prophets and traveling in the soul. The repetition of "I cry I pray mon dieu" adds a sense of emotional intensity and urgency, as the singer pleads for divine guidance and reassurance. The overall effect is one of exaltation and surrender, as the singer celebrates their own spiritual awakening while acknowledging the power and majesty of the divine.
