Overall Meaning

The lyrics of the song "Meri Nazar Hai Tujhpe" by Asha Bhosle express the singer's multiple facets and how she is observed by the world. The first two verses talk about the different sides of her personality, which includes both light and shadow. She is unique and stands out from everyone else in the world. The repeated lines "Meri tujhpe nazar hai, tera dhyan kidhar hai" question where the world's attention is focused, indicating that she deserves more attention and recognition.

The next verse speaks of her being a cause or reason for something that is missing in heaven. It emphasizes her importance and presence in the world. The lines "Ghatiya na pio sanam, badhiya nazar ki saraab" advise not to consume low-quality things but to appreciate the beauty of her gaze. The phrase "O mere kharab dil, tera makan" suggests that her heart is a dwelling place for someone, probably referring to a loved one or romantic interest.

The following verse highlights the idea that she is only for herself and her love interests. The lines "Tu hi toh main hoon mera, ulfat chalan hai mera" imply that she identifies herself through her love and is devoted to someone special. She questions who else is there besides that person, emphasizing their significance in her life.

The final verse expresses the singer's desire to meet someone and have their attention throughout the night. The lines "Mujhe mann na raat bhar, main hoon toh kiska hai dar" reflect her longing for companionship and the fear of being alone. The phrase "Loot jaa mere naam par" suggests being associated with her would bring prosperity. The song concludes with a plea for a wandering soul to meet her and give her some attention.

Overall, the lyrics of "Meri Nazar Hai Tujhpe" depict the singer's multi-faceted personality, her longing for companionship, and her desire to be recognized and appreciated.

What a composition by the great R.D.Burman mind blowing & Asha_ji’s magical voice which is unparalleled-👏👏👏👏👏

@singhs2211

Atanu da.
🙏

Bet lakhs ...if anyone can mix classical and Western..so seamlessly.Ashaji once agreed it was very difficult to render this song.... With out losing the tempo... ie why we keep on listening such gems after so many years and keep analysing.Thats magic of RD.😍😘

@satishbansal9395

Magic of pancham da ....

@zenlikes

A rumbustious number underlining the range and the daring experiments only a maverick of RD's calibre is capable of. Not only does RD's radical blending of the Western and Eastern 'gharanas' here disprove Rudyard Kipling's notorious contention: "East is East and West is West and never the twain shall meet", it brings together the stark opposites of sensuality and sobriety to an explosive fusion.

Ashaji is sheer electric in vocalising both extremes of emotions with the perfect proportion of pizzazz and poise, executing both the roles --- of a saucy seductress and a shy, "susheel" lady-love --- with even-handed justice. The song remains one of the foremost specimens of her brilliance not merely as a singer but a consummate actor as well. I had read / heard somewhere that in order to be a good singer one needs to be a good actor too.

And last but not the least, a bouquet of thanks to Atanuda for presenting the song in such mindblowing quality of sound. It's true that the "TBT" OST was mastered with superb sound by the then HMV, but it isn't easy to sustain that same standard in a YouTube upload. Atanuda does this here and in upload after upload. Hats off, Atanuda.

@@sbose64 Heartfelt thanks for sparing such kind words of appreciation. Actually, the thanks should go entirely to Atanuda. It's because of the beauty of his upload,
the aural brilliance of it, that these words came out of me.
