Bjurren and Bonnie started Cosa Nostra, Micke joined Strebers and Ernie started NEIN together with members of Rolands Gosskör.
In 1989 the band was reunited and played a few gigs, but then went dormant until 1992 when they played at Rosa Honung's ten year jubilee. Then the band went quiet again until 2003 when they started touring again as a "revenge" for all the unfairness they've been put through. The drummer, Bjurre, quit the band in late 2004 to focuson his other bands Frost and Deny, and was replaced by Dadde (of Wolfbrigade). During 2005 a conflict with Rosa Honung that had been growing for many years reached a point where the band could no longer work with the label so they signed a deal with Burning Heart Records. In April 2006 Asta kask recorded their first new album in 20 years.

I USA:s slumkvarter
Vår hjälte ibland man ser
Ensam på sin hjältefärd
Ensam i drogens värld
Bortglömd av det land
Han kämpade för i Vietnam
För hjältar av hans sort
Dom vill man ju helst glömma bort
FRÅN USA TILL VIETNAM
VÄLKOMMEN HEM
En sista kula han har kvar
Ja, det sista liv han tar
Ett sista mord för Uncle Sam
Han tog ju sitt liv för sitt land
The lyrics to Asta Kask's song Välkommen hem, which translates to Welcome Home, tell a story of a young man who is encouraged by both his father and society to go to Vietnam and fight for his country. Despite his hesitation, the young man enlists and goes off to war, only to find that his experience is far from what he expected. Night after night, he cries for every life he's taken and struggles with the atrocities of war. Seeing Uncle Sam drop napalm froze all of his feelings, as he suffered both physically and mentally.
After his time in Vietnam was up, the young man returned to the United States, where he is now forgotten and living in poverty. He is alone in his struggles with addiction and PTSD, and society turns a blind eye to his suffering. As a last resort, he takes his own life, feeling that he has killed one last time for his country.
The song is a poignant commentary on the effects of war on soldiers, not just physically, but emotionally and mentally as well. It highlights the disconnect between those who send soldiers to fight and those who suffer the consequences. The lyrics paint a picture of a young man whose life is destroyed by a war that he was told was necessary for his country.
