From an early age, BT demonstrated a remarkable aptitude for playing and understanding classical music. He was heavily influenced by avant-garde and romantic composers such as Stravinsky, Bartok, Debussy and Rachmaninov. His biggest influences, however, were from everyday sounds that most would take for granted, from noticing the meter of the grandfather clock in the foyer to the micro-rhythms of crickets and cicadas to the ambience of passing trains at night.
The drive to actualize the tools BT envisions has led to his evolution as one of the most cutting-edge programmers and technologists in music today. He has expanded this reach into a visionary software venture, Sonik Architects which launched its critically- and commercially-acclaimed iPhone application, Sonifi™.
Brian Transeau is the father of a young daughter, Kaia. He lives and composes his works in his Los Angeles home/studio in which he has a few Apple G5's and 8 AMD dual-core Opteron 64-bit desktops which he uses for his techno-wizardry.
BT has released 8 albums and has scored over a dozen films. His most critically acclaimed album, "This Binary Universe" (released August 29, 2006), was composed in 5.1 surround sound and contains animated videos for each song, presenting a new way of experiencing music.
BT works with multiple computers and the CSound programming language to help craft his work. He also owns a company, Sonik Architects, which develops both VST and VSTi programs which he uses in his own productions.

In this one horse town
You make your own luck
In a one horse town
We live in a place they forgot to go down
How many escape from a one horse town
If it were me I'd be always running
We're gonna be always together
Always running, always
Always
Same old dreams of escape again
Our same old dreary fate again
That one horse town belays again
Lets take to the streets so we can breathe again
And we scream our names to the heavens and the plains
Then we'll run like hell and get clear of this place
We'll have more of raging hearts than graves
But I'd take that any day, always
If it were me I'd be always running
Always running, with you, always
We're gonna be always together
Always running
Always, always
We'll scream our names to the heavens and the waves
Then we'll run like hell and get clear of this place
We'll have more raging hearts than graves
But we won't care
We'll be always running
Always running, with you, always
We're gonna be always together
Always running
'Cause we are far from lost on this dance floor
Freedom drives us crazy
The BT song "Always" is a powerful song that lyrically talks about living in a small, one horse town, feeling suffocated and wanting to escape with a loved one. The song's message is the desire to escape from this type of small-town mentality where one has little to no chance of achieving their dreams. The phrase "one horse town" is commonly used in colloquial conversation to refer to small rural towns with one main street and few opportunities.
The opening couplet of the song sets the tone for the rest of the lyrics. "There's nothing for us in this one horse town, you make your own luck in a one horse town." It highlights the limitations of living in a small community where growth and opportunities are limited. The following line, "We live in a place they forgot to go down", emphasizes how the town has been forgotten, and the people living in it have been left behind.
The next verse has a more urgent tone, speaking about the need to escape. The phrase "Same old dreams of escape again, our same old dreary fate again" highlights the sense of being stuck in a rut. The lyrics then take a turn towards hope and possibility, where they imagine taking to the streets and screaming their names to the world. The imagery of screaming their names to the heavens and the waves speaks to their need for something larger than themselves, a recognition that they exist, and they matter.
Overall the song is about the desire for freedom, and the power of dreams to drive an individual to action. The song is relatable to anyone who has had the desire to leave their hometown for something more significant, and be with the person they love in a place where they can achieve their goals.
