The ensemble consists of four clarinets, three trumpets, a tambora, a tarola, a tuba (Sousaphone style), three trombones, and three singers.
Banda el Recodo was founded by Don Cruz Lizárraga from Sinaloa, Mexico. Although he had to drop out of high school to work, Lizárraga was an excellent bandleader and musician. Self-taught on the clarinet, he was forced to sell one of his hogs to pay for his new musical instrument. Once he moved to Mazatlán, Sinaloa, Lizarraga signed a deal with RCA Victor and soon formed Banda el Recodo. Since his death in 1995, Lizarraga's son has taken over the group and undertaken extensive international tours. Today, Banda el Recodo continues to be one of the most famous and most popular Mexican folk music bands of all time
Me Vale

Me sobras en la memoria
Aunque ayer fuiste mi gloria
Hoy solo eres una mas
No me vengas con el cuento
Que yo soy el mero bueno
Si tu amor sabe a veneno
Y aun que acepto que te quiero
Me vale poco
Lo que sientas tu por mi
Me vale todo
Lo que digas por ahí
Tu traición es mi desprecio
Y por eso te abandono
No me culpes a tu modo
Pues yo me equivoque
Paga pues la consecuencias
Para mi estas acabada
Tu arrepentimiento es nada
Y no te pongas de rodillas
Ahora te toco perder
Aquí el que se pone de rodillas
Soy yo chiquitita
Pero implorándole a Dios
Que nunca vuelvas condenada
Me vale poco
Lo que sientas tu por mi
Me vale todo
Lo que digas por ahí
The song "Me Vale" by Banda El Recodo tells a story of a person who has moved on from a past relationship, even though it was once a significant part of their life. The lyrics of the song communicate the singer's feelings of dissatisfaction with their former partner, who has betrayed their trust. The song's title, "Me Vale," is translated to "I Don't Care," which is a phrase repeated throughout the song to emphasize the singer's apathy towards their ex-partner.
The lyrics show that the singer has accepted that their former lover was merely a fleeting moment and is now just a faded memory. He does not want to be convinced that he was the one at fault, as his partner's love was poisonous, and although he still cares for her, he must move on. The chorus of the song delivers a potent message that what others think or say about the singer no longer matters since they have already come to terms with what happened in their past. The singer seems to be emotionally and mentally free from their past relationship, as he expresses no desire to reconcile with his former partner.
In summary, "Me Vale" is a song about letting go of a toxic relationship and moving on with life. It is a powerful anthem for anyone who may be going through a similar situation. The song teaches us that sometimes we need to let go of things that no longer benefit us, and we should not care about what others think.
