Barbra Streisand has recorded more than 60 albums, almost all with Columbia Records. Her early works in the 1960s (her debut The Barbra Streisand Album which won two Grammy Awards in 1963, followed by The Second Barbra Streisand Album, The Third Album, My Name Is Barbra, etc.) are considered classic renditions of theater and nightclub standards, including her version of Happy Days Are Here Again. Beginning with My Name Is Barbra, her albums were often medley-filled keepsakes of her television specials.
Starting in 1969, Streisand tackled contemporary songwriters; like many talented singers of the day, she found herself a fish out of water in attempts to tackle rock, but her vocal talents prevailed and she gained newfound success with the pop and ballad-oriented Richard Perry-produced album Stoney End in 1971. The title track, written by Laura Nyro, was a big hit for Streisand.
Streisand's 1980 album, Guilty featured the songwriting, production and vocal talents of Barry Gibb and was the best-selling album of her recording career. During the 1970s, she was also highly prominent in the pop charts, with number-one records like The Way We Were, Evergreen, No More Tears (Enough Is Enough) (her duet with Donna Summer), and Woman In Love; some of these came from soundtracks of her films. She recently took part in supporting Haiti in singing "We are the World 25th anniversary.
When the 1970s ended, Streisand was named the most successful female singer in the U.S. - only Elvis Presley and The Beatles having sold more albums. [1]
[1] In 1982, New York Times music critic Stephen Holden wrote that Streisand was "the most influential mainstream American pop singer since Frank Sinatra."
One More Time Around

There was no one we could blame
People told me love will come again
When you least expect it
It will lift you up the way it did back then
Thought it couldn't happen
And even when I had said next time
'Cause the passion never lasts - someone told me
Love is never gone
Like a light inside you
Someone's going to come along and turn it on
Didn't want to do it
Go for
One more time around
One more time like the old times
I still feel so much inside me
Maybe I'll make it better next time
It all depends on what I find
With one more try
Guess relationships are hard to say the least
'Cause we make the same mistakes
But I've got to try and get it right
Or I'll only end up like the others who get
Stranded in the night
So I'm going to do it
Go for one more time around
One more time like the old times
I still feel so much inside me
Maybe I'll make it better next time
It all depends on what I find
With just one more time around
One more time like the old times
I still feel so much inside me
Maybe we'll make it better next time
It all depends if you and I
Go for one more time around
One more time like the old times
I still feel so much inside me
Maybe I'll make it better next time
It all depends on what I find
With one more try
In the song "One More Time Around" by Barbra Streisand, the singer reflects on a failed relationship and the difficulty of finding love again. She acknowledges that love is unpredictable – it can come unexpectedly and bring back the passion of past relationships. Despite the fear of being hurt again, she decides to take a risk and try for love one more time, hoping to make it better this time around. She is aware that relationships can be challenging, and mistakes can be repeated, but she is determined to learn from the past and move forward with renewed hope.
The lyrics convey the message that even though love can be unpredictable and relationships can have obstacles, it is always worth trying again. The singer is willing to take a chance and embrace the uncertainty that comes with love. By reflecting on the past and making the decision to try again, she demonstrates resilience and optimism.
