The Legend of the Wizard and the Fairy
Barilari Lyrics
Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴ Line by Line Meaning ↴
Who wandered the enchanted forest in pain
Cause in spite of his magic
He hadn´t been able to find any love.
The moonlight his only one friend
Gave him the energy to tolerate,
The torment that he was feeling
It´s that he knew very well that in his life,
He was supposed not to escape
his endless fate.
If someone should love you once,
you´ll know in time
You´ll only have to be ready
to spot the moment.
He was walking down the forest
When he felt a stranger was looking at him.
It was is beautiful fairy
The one he had always been trying to meet.
From that moment it was written
The fairy and the wizard
Were longing to be.
Together in the deep forest
Loving each other for eternity.
The evil which was always there
Just couldn´t bear
To see them happy and bright
With great delight
And with his anger he attacked
Until he put her to sleep
And she fell into a bad dream
Where she could not feel.
The wizard wandered his castle
Looking for power
To bring his love back.
And to return to his fairy
The most tender look
that she had always had.
He didn´t stop for a second
Planning the best way
To make her wake up
And to save her from the evil
Spirit who´d managed to make him feel sad.
And now he knows what love is
And that he´ll have
Enough power to tolerate
The fairy´s absence.
He knows one day he will see
His lovely fairy come back
And they will happily live forever after.

The lyrics of Barilari's song "The Legend of the Wizard and the Fairy" tell a story of a lonely wizard searching for love in an enchanted forest. Despite his magical abilities, he hasn't been successful in finding love and feels the weight of his loneliness. However, one day, he meets the fairy that he has always been trying to find, and they fall in love. But their happiness is short-lived as an evil spirit attacks the fairy and puts her to sleep, leaving the wizard to search for a way to save her.
The song portrays a timeless theme of the pursuit of love and how one must be open and ready to spot that moment when it arrives. It also explores the idea that love can give us the strength to overcome challenges and face adversity. The wizard's unwavering commitment to saving the fairy demonstrates that true love is worth fighting for and can give us hope even in our darkest moments.

This is the story of a wizard
Let me tell you about a wizard
Who wandered the enchanted forest in pain
He was walking through the magical woods, feeling sorrowful
Cause in spite of his magic
Despite his mystical powers
He hadn´t been able to find any love.
He was lonely and had never found love
The moonlight his only one friend
He only had the moonlight as company
Gave him the energy to tolerate,
It gave him the strength to endure
The torment that he was feeling
The pain he was experiencing
Taking the blame for his own loneliness.
He believed it was his own fault for being alone
It´s that he knew very well that in his life,
He was aware that in his existence
He was supposed not to escape
He was meant to face
his endless fate.
His never-ending destiny
If someone should love you once,
If someone loves you at some point,
you´ll know in time
You'll eventually realize
You´ll only have to be ready
You just need to be prepared
to spot the moment.
To recognize the opportunity
He was walking down the forest
As he was wandering through the wood
When he felt a stranger was looking at him.
He sensed a stranger was observing him
It was is beautiful fairy
He saw the stunning fairy
The one he had always been trying to meet.
The one he had been pursuing tirelessly
From that moment it was written
From then on it was predetermined
The fairy and the wizard
The fairy and the wizard
Were longing to be.
Were yearning to be together
Together in the deep forest
Together in the dense woods
Loving each other for eternity.
Loving each other forever
The evil which was always there
Evil, which was always present
Just couldn´t bear
Couldn't tolerate
To see them happy and bright
To witness their joy and bliss
With great delight
With immense satisfaction
And with his anger he attacked
The evil spirit attacked with fury
Until he put her to sleep
Until he made her unconscious
And she fell into a bad dream
She entered a nightmare
Where she could not feel.
Where she was incapable of feeling anything
The wizard wandered his castle
The wizard roamed his fortress
Looking for power
Seeking more power
To bring his love back.
To retrieve his love
And to return to his fairy
And to restore his fairy
The most tender look
The sweetest expression
that she had always had.
That she always had on her face
He didn´t stop for a second
He didn't pause for a moment
Planning the best way
Devising the most effective method
To make her wake up
To awaken her
And to save her from the evil
And to rescue her from the malice
Spirit who´d managed to make him feel sad.
That had caused him sorrow.
And now he knows what love is
He now understands love
And that he´ll have
And that he will possess
Enough power to tolerate
Sufficient strength to endure
The fairy´s absence.
The lack of his fairy's presence
He knows one day he will see
He realizes that one day he will behold
His lovely fairy come back
His beautiful fairy's return
And they will happily live forever after.
And they will live joyfully evermore.
