BarlowGirl's Philosophy
The band has gained a following with their "Anti-Conformity" message of "Don't be conformed, be Transformed" from Romans 12:1-2. Besides believing in abstinence and modesty, the band has also taken a stand on not dating, but their main message remains that people should look to God for love and security, and he will bring everything else into our lives. Very simply, trust God. They encourage people to trust the unseen. Just because you can't see God doesn't mean He isn't there!
Self Titled Debut Album
BarlowGirl instantly hit the spotlight in 2004 with their acclaimed self-titled debut album, coupled with the success of its first single, Never Alone. The trio was the best selling new Christian artist of 2004. BarlowGirl received a 2006 GMA award nomination for Rock/Contemporary Song of the Year for Mirror.

Their second album, Another Journal Entry, was released on September 27, 2005. The first single from the album, Let Go, had already begun receiving airplay on Christian radio stations. Keep Quiet

So that I could bring You to this world
I want them to see You in me
But Your name just keeps them far from me
So, I'll keep quiet
Let's hope they see I'm different
Why are we so scared to tell this world You saved us?
When all of the hope of the world's in Your name
Why are we so scared to say, oh, Jesus, yeah, Jesus
If I avoid to speak Your name
Tell me would You do the same to me?
If relevance becomes my goal
Tell me will I lose You to its hold
But if I keep quiet
They'll never see I'm different
Jesus, Jesus, why's Your name offensive?
Why are we so scared to tell this world You saved us?
When all of the hope of the world's in Your name
Why are we so scared to say, yeah, Jesus, whoa, Jesus, yeah
I'm sorry, I've cared about my name more than Yours
I'm so sorry, how could I hide You anymore?
But if I keep quiet
They'll never see I'm different
Jesus, Jesus, why is Your name so offensive?
Why are we so scared to tell this world You saved us?
When all of the hope of the world's in Your name
Why are we so scared to say, oh Jesus, whoa Jesus, yeah
Oh Jesus, whoa Jesus
In "Keep Quiet," BarlowGirl talks about the internal conflict that arises when it comes to sharing the Gospel. They feel the need to share Jesus with the world but at the same time, they're fearful of being rejected, judged, or labeled. The lyrics talk about all the sacrifices they've made to bring Christ to the world, and they want people to see Jesus in them. But, the problem is that the mention of Jesus' name only serves to push people away. This realization causes them to consider keeping quiet and not mentioning Christ to others. They fear that just like they're hesitant to say His name, He too may keep quiet about them if they don't speak up.
The song speaks to a common struggle among Christians today. People wish to share Christ's love, grace, and mercy with others, but fear and anxiety hold them back. The lyrics are delivered with a mixture of frustration, sorrow, and conviction that is hard to ignore. The bridge of the song serves as a poignant reminder that we must put our faith in Christ above all else, for it is in His name that all hope lies.
In conclusion, "Keep Quiet" is a beautiful song that resonates with Christians globally, calling them to stay calm and share their faith with courage. BarlowGirl's lyrics deliver a message that is potent and inspiring, reminding us that the Gospel is meant to be shared with the world.
