Beatsteaks Lyrics
Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴ Line by Line Meaning ↴
The lyrics of the Beatsteak's song, 48/49, provide a description of the band's members and their roles in the band. The first couple of lines introduce Steffi, the drummer, who also leads the band's rhythm. The lyrics suggest that he is usually responsible if the band missteps in their rhythm. Next, Bernd is mentioned, who is the lead guitarist and plays a battered replica guitar. In contrast, Peter is described as the macho lead guitarist, who excels at every solo and riff he plays. Arnim is the lead vocalist of the band, who stands alongside the person singing the song, and they collectively make up the band's core.
The lyrics also mention the band's bass player, who is positioned next to the famous rock band Manowar and has an affinity for Slayer. The lyrics also remark that each band member individually may not be much, but together they make up a complete and impressive band. The song ultimately celebrates their origins, as they hail from Berlin and come from a dark cellar. The lyrics suggest that the band's identity is an amalgamation of all the member's personalities and influences, and despite not being as famous as others, they still have something to offer to their fans.
