Tal Vez
Belanova Lyrics
Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴ Line by Line Meaning ↴
Yo no me acordaría de ti
Pensar que un día fui a respuesta
De la pregunta, que hoy quiero olvidar
Donde esta el corazón
De quien tu amas
Tal vez en un rincón
Del mar de tus besos
Del mar que quiero secar, del mar
Tal vez si yo fuera mas sensata
Habría inventado una poción
Para borrar el sabor de tu boca
Y la pregunta que hoy quiero olvidar
Donde esta el corazón
De quien tu amas
Tal vez en un rincón
Del mar de tus besos
Del mar que quiero secar, del mar
Que un día fue para mi
Y hoy, de quien?
The lyrics of Belanova's song "Tal Vez" portrays a sense of longing and confusion that comes with a past love. The opening verse "Tal vez si las cosas fueran fáciles, yo no me acordaría de ti" translates to "Maybe if things were easy, I wouldn't remember you" and illuminates the complexities of holding on to past relationships. The singer then reflects on how they used to be the answer to a question that they now hope to forget, indicating that they have since realized the relationship was not healthy.
The chorus highlights the questions and uncertainties that come with a past love, asking "Where is the heart of the one you love? Maybe in a corner, of the sea of your kisses, the sea that I want to dry, the sea that once belonged to me, and now, to whom?" These lyrics convey the confusion that arises from not knowing where one stand in their past lover's heart.
The second verse expresses regret, with the singer wishing they were more sensible to have been able to move on from the past love. "Habría inventado una poción, para borrar el sabor de tu boca y la pregunta que hoy quiero olvidar" translates to "I would have invented a potion to erase the taste of your mouth and the question that I want to forget today." The song concludes with the chorus, emphasizing the singer's desire to understand where they stand with their past love.
