1. 1990's melodic energetic earworm punk from Canada, they showed us how it's done.
'It starts with a sound. The sound is like an industrial vacuum sucking the punkness out of Green Day. With those sails deflated, Funny Kar cruises like a beach-bound mobile loaded with guitar hooks and juiced on melody. While some songs delve into power pop, they always seem to come out smelling of punk'. by Scott Hefflon

Fall on Your Head
Bender Lyrics
Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴ Line by Line Meaning ↴
I'll keep on going strong
Have to be strong
In my way just keep on going
I'll keep one wide open
Keep one locked away
And when the whole thing's over
No one left to blame
Saving their dreams for another day
Caught in a slow erosion in intimate decay
Until my will is broken no one left to blame
Don't let the world,
Don't let the world
Fall on your head
Don't let the world
Fall on your head
And when the flood gates open
Ashes swept away
Until my will is broken
I'll be first to say
Gone, after she's gone in my way
I'll keep on going strong
Have to be strong
In my way just keep on
Don't let the world,
Don't let the world
Fall on your head
Don't let the world
Fall on your head
Follow me down
Follow me down
Follow me down
Follow me down
The lyrics of Bender's song Fall on Your Head convey a message of resilience and perseverance. The song begins with the singer acknowledging the absence of someone important in their life, but they are determined to keep moving forward despite the loss. The lyrics emphasize the need to stay strong and keep pushing forward, without blaming others for the hardships faced along the way.
The lyrics touch upon the notion that people often waste their lives waiting for the perfect moment, while they should actually focus on making the most of the present before it's too late. The line "saving their dreams for another day" highlights this idea. The song then moves on to highlight the inevitability of change and the importance of adapting to it. The verse "caught in a slow erosion in intimate decay" suggests that when people resist change, they risk gradual decay and eventual destruction until their very willpower is broken.
The chorus of the song reinforces the message of perseverance and not letting the world conquer one's spirit. The phrases "don't let the world fall on your head" and "follow me down" invite the audience to join the singer in their efforts to stay strong and to not give up in the face of adversity.
