1. 1990's melodic energetic earworm punk from Canada, they showed us how it's done.
'It starts with a sound. The sound is like an industrial vacuum sucking the punkness out of Green Day. While some songs delve into power pop, they always seem to come out smelling of punk'. by Scott Hefflon

Lobster
Bender Lyrics

I thought they were nice
You ate a hot dog that I paid for
I won a big giraffe and gave it to you
We stood in line for the lobster
Ten times on the lobster
Ten times on the lobster
We stood in line
Ten times on the lobster
We rode a carousel my horse was yellow
We had cotton candy it was good
You liked the clown his name was "Krinkle" or something
We got in line for the lobster
Ten times on the lobster
Ten times on the lobster
We stood in line
We stood in line
Ten times on the lobster
You wore your new pants
I thought they were nice
You ate a hot dog that I paid for
I won a big giraffe and gave it to you
We stood in line for the lobster
Ten times on the lobster
Ten times on the lobster
We stood in line
We stood in line
Ten times on the lobster
Ten times on the lobster
Ten times on the lobster
Ten times on the lobster
Ten times on the lobster
Bender's song "Lobster" appears in the television show Futurama season 2 episode "Why Must I Be a Crustacean in Love?" Bender sings the song to his crush, a female robot named Angleyne. The lyrics tell the story of Bender and Angleyne's date at a carnival where they enjoy various activities, including riding a carousel, eating cotton candy, and standing in line for the lobster ride. The repetition of "ten times on the lobster" emphasizes Bender's enthusiastic and persistent pursuit of Angleyne's affection.
The song is a humorous commentary on the often awkward and uncomfortable experience of dating and trying to impress someone. Bender's use of specific details, such as Angleyne wearing new pants, buying her a hot dog, and winning her a large giraffe plush toy, convey his desire to please her and create a memorable experience. However, despite the effort and the many attempts on the lobster ride, Bender's romantic gestures ultimately fail to win Angleyne over.
