Shevanel Take 2
Between the Buried and Me Lyrics
Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴ Line by Line Meaning ↴
Dream (on) the inside, dream (on) my own
Once escaped star filled road
My head will not rest on this pillow
As it's gripped in my arms tonight like reality, too tight
But if this dream could last forever
I would hold you here
This world inside
Is the world I have longed to find
And I will not be afraid to love
I will not be afraid to lose what I once deprived myself of
My tears have salt stained this pillow
Loosened from my weakened clutch
By the sun's light, too much
But there's a hope today
That i'll find a way to make
This dream a life and real to me
Sometimes i'll run and sometimes I'll crawl
Sometimes i'll fly and sometimes I'll fall
But this dream of mine will not change at all
The lyrics to Between the Buried and Me's song Shevanel Take 2 are about the desire to escape reality and live inside one's own dreams. The singer of the song is experiencing some sort of mental turmoil, as indicated by the line "sleep insane". They want to retreat into their own mind and live in a world they have created for themselves. They are holding onto their pillow as a symbol of comfort, but it's also like reality is weighing them down. They long for their dream to become a reality, where they can hold onto the person they love without fear. They have been denying themselves love and are now finally ready to embrace it fully. Though the world inside their mind may not be perfect, they are willing to take the risk of loving someone and potentially losing them. The dream they have will not change, even if they fall or fail along the way.
Overall, the lyrics of Shevanel Take 2 are a poetic representation of the human desire to escape reality and live in a perfect world. The singer has been struggling and denying themselves love, but now they are ready to take the risk. This song is a beautiful exploration of the courage it takes to make one's dreams a reality.

Their dynamic range even back then was incredible. They're able to pull off literally any style with excellence, originality, cohesion, and authenticity. The Parallax II was a masterpiece, but I'm anxious to see whether it pales compared to what they have in store...
